I'm currently a college student who doodles during or between classes. I've given up my work as a pet site illustrator and am considering giving up other forms of commissions too due to self-esteem issues (I'm a perfectionist, so an entire month of off-days is terrifying for me).

I find comics very hard to do when it's not something spontaneous, it doesn't matter what media I work in I always do it in a short burst on one little idea.

Comics aside, I'm constantly making up stories in my head, crossovers of TV shows I like or books I've read, altered characters, fantasy species that travel between worlds and so on. Anime and manga are great for these things; you don't feel much guilt for butchering them.
