Simon & Garfunkel say hello! I actually heard "I Am A Rock" on the radio last week, and even though I've known that song forever, it was the first time I actually really listened to the lyrics (You probably know this phenomenon first-hand... when you're very accustomed to a song you won't consciously listen to the lyrics). And so I found myself appreciating its lyrics for the first time, and I thought I just HAD to include them on signifikat.

In the philosophy of language, there's a very basic (and quite Wittgensteinian) difference between statements and expressions - statements referring to objective facts, expressions referring to subjective states. Can you guess which is which on this page? :P

I've never been the greatest fan of Paul Simon's music (everything on Graceland excepted!) but, you're right - the man sure does write some damn fine lyrics!

And, oooh - being driven to distraction by ye olde PC. An experience we all share, I'm sure!
