Moving Day

Well, hey! Long time no see, guys.
Actually, that's entirely my fault. I've been updating the comic at the new site (onequestioncomic.com), and by the time I finish it's about 1 in the morning and I want nothing more than to go to bed. Even something as simple as copying and pasting whatever post I had just written into the form here and Drunk Duck was kind of "Eh, it can wait until tomorrow". After awhile I just started to forget about the mirror site, and now you guys are horribly behind. That kind of sucks.
I've been thinking about it, and I've come to the decision to just not update 1Q on DD any more. Every new update will now be uploaded on the new official home of 1Q, ONEQUESTIONCOMIC.COM.
CLICK HERE to jump to the page last posted on the DD mirror. You can browse through the newer pages since then to catch up with everyone else.
Don't worry, this doesn't mean my relationship with DD is totally over. My other project DMR is still hosted here, and as soon as Book 1 of 1Q is over (which is just one more chapter and a short Epilogue to go) I'll start updating that again.

See you over at the new site!

ONEQUESTIONCOMIC.COM

Hey, everyone! Gosh, I missed you guys.
So, a lot of stuff has happened to me and Kelly to make us miss an update. First off, we both finally got jobs! I was hired by the movie theater and Kelly's working in a Bed Bath and Beyond, and it sounds surprisingly difficult. Mine, on the other hand, is incredibly easy---AND I get free tickets and popcorn anytime I want (within reason). I can also sign myself up to receive movie posters and promotional merchandise that the theater throws out once the movie leaves theaters! With any luck, I'll have a Wall-E (Which is great! I went to a midnight showing.) and a Hellboy poster by the end of the summer! *squeal*
Then our wireless internet died and we couldn't get on the internet anymore. Sad. :(
Then our wireless internet was fixed a few days later and we could! Happy! :)
And then it finally got hot again, and we turned on our AC to find out that it didn't work after all. Sad. :(
But my family has come up with us and we're going to a wedding tomorrow, and immediately after that we're going to the beach! Happy! :)
My sister also cut my hair (and also tried to die it blond, which didn't work out so well, thank goodness), so I've got a new look. Happy! :)
But she cut it waaaay shorter than I wanted to, and I was really freaked out. Sad. :(
But now it's starting to grow on me! Happy! :)
I've also managed to add a few more things to the links page, specifically most of the Golden Chain project, which is part of the Palace in the Sky Publishing Group. There are only about three missing, but only because I can't find any banners to use. I'm sure a little bit more searching will take care of it, though.
The home page may look like it's swamped with ads now, but they're there for good reasons. The one along the bottom is to help cover some of the hosting costs Rampage works up hosting all of the awesome comics that are part of the network. The one along the right side is to help support the Palace in the Sky group, and all proceeds go towards the promotion of the groups and the webcomics therein. The smaller ad along the very top of the page is/was there only temporary, also to help with some hosting costs.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
I will be out of town from June 27th to July 5th, so there will be no updates until I'm back from my vacation. Sorry, you guys. Internet is going to be a rare thing where I'm going.

And a final note:
I made a cameo in someone's comic! :D
Much love.

Yes! Second met update in a row! HA! Gosh, everything is so much easier with Kelly doing the coloring! Oh, did I mention that she does all of her coloring with a mouse?! I am not kidding.
One really, really nice thing about this whole arrangement is, not only do I get Kelly's awesome colors gracing my lineart, but it gives me more time to put more effort and details into the pages. Now, I'm trying not to make it TOO detailed for Kelly's sake, but this week I actually managed to get some shading into that last panel. ...not that you can see it much. To be honest, it's been painful to add the dialogue to each page because it covers up the great job Kelly has done on some of the details... I might actually start a new gallery in the Extras section dedicated just to pages without dialogue, so that you can see what I see when I'm done with them.
Or rather, when Kelly's done with them.
Some of you may have noticed that I still haven't gotten around to that Links page yet. Sorry. But I have gotten banners from nearly every site I'm going to link. I just need to spend about two hours to fill out every category I've created, as well as add a few link buttons for 1Q itself. ...Can't forget that.

Gosh, nothing really new happened this week. I got hit on by an 18 year old (who's been dubbed "Hairy Perry" by my sister) last Saturday while I was walking around the neighborhood yard sale looking for a desk chair (for that awesome desk I mentioned last week). I ended up giving him my number (but only because he gave me an "I Am Legend" poster for free, which I'm giving to a friend of mine). I was hoping he'd give me a call and invite me somewhere, thus giving my social life around here a little boost, but so far it hasn't happened. I guess he was scared because I'm... gosh, well I'm 20, and that's old.
Oh! And hopefully I'll be getting a call from a nearby movie theater with a job offer. I applied the other day.
....WANNA JOOOOOOOB.... D:

Be sure to drop Kelly a note telling her what a great job she's doing! I couldn't be doing this without her! Also, be sure to wish her luck on her job interview. I hope she nails it!
...But of course she will. What am I saying?

Could it be?
YES! IT IS! AN ACTUAL UPDATE!
And... whoa... what is this? Could I possibly have made massive improvements upon all of my coloring techniques? Actually, no. It's just my awesome friend's coloring skills at work. Kelly January, if you all remember, has promised to help out with summer updates by coloring what pages I send her. And seriously, who can deny the awesomeness that radiates from the page? If anything, my cruddy lineart just dirties it.
Yes, I'd like to apologize for the low quality of today's page. It's been awhile since I've been able to draw at all, so I'm just getting back into things. I found myself in a sudden burst of artistic inspiration because I finally found an awesome desk to use in my room. It's a small but cozy little computer desk with tons of shelf space, in great condition. The best part is that I paid TWELVE DOLLARS for it! :D Yeah, I'm starting to really love garage sales. When I can, I'll see if I can't take some pictures to show y'all. I'm really in love with this piece of furniture, it's great.
ALSO! A One Question Movie?! Dude, it could be the major release of the summer!
Actually, that super sweet trailer of ultimate bad-buttery was made by a really good friend of mine called Molly Doylie. She and I (as well as two other awesome girls) are going to be living together next year. There will be rockin' times to be had at the Thunder Dome!
One Question was also featured on OltreComics this week! You can see the actual article here. It's a great little blurb, but I haven't gotten any good reviews yet. ;) Be sure to check out the rest of the site while you're there! Maybe you'll find some other good comics to read. :)
Nothing much to report this week, other than our router suddenly decided to die. None of the computers can get internet in the house unless you're sitting two inches away from the wireless modem... which is what I'm doing right now. It's made getting around on the internet rather difficult (I had to burn the PSD file of the inks to this page on a CD and then bring it down to the desktop computer just to get it to Kelly on Tuesday night), but I've been able to manage.
I'm also in the middle of totally revamping the Links page over at the new site. I need to put up the Link Exchange for Palace in the Sky Publishing (of which I am now part! Hurrah!), correct all my horrible spelling and make it look really nice with some banners. It would also be a good place to put some actual things with which you can link to One Question as well, eh? But for awhile, that page won't really be that interesting until I find the time to mess with it. Sorry, please be patient with me.
Cheeko out.

Today's post is really important, and it would be great if you could read through the entire thing. Future updates and possible hiatuses for the comic are addressed, and you need to know what's going on. If you want to get to the bare bones of the matter, skip to the fourth indented paragraph of this news post.

Wow. Even with two weeks to work on a page I barely managed to get it done in time, and even then I cut a few corners. If you will please disregard the sudden absence of clouds, the shoddy shading and background jobs, I might actually fool you into thinking I've created a page of the same quality I've been churning out these past few weeks.
This is because--surprise, surprise--I've been incredibly busy. For those of you who don't yet know, I'm staying with my sister in Ohio until the end of July this summer. While my 20-month old nephew is perfectly angelic and can amuse himself for hours, throwing another baby into the mix can be somewhat overwhelming. This is where I come in: I was desperately needed to watch little Scottie while my sister was off at the hospital giving birth to a little girl, whenever it happened.

And behold! Sophia Rose was born May 7th at 8:15 AM!
She is seriously the most beautiful baby I have ever seen. I've never held an infant that young or small. She's perfect in every way. The little faces she makes and her little toes and fingers... simply adorable. She had some lung problems for the first day or so, but that's a common concern with infants born during C-section. A vaginal birth forces all the fluids out of the lungs as it passes the pelvis, forcing the baby to take that first breath as it comes into the world; with a C-section, that obviously doesn't happen so the lungs need a little more time to adjust. But she's doing fine now; she's a healthy color and crying like a normal baby should.

ANYWAY.
What does this mean for the comic? Obviously I don't have as much free time to devote to it as I once did, and I don't want to give you half-butt pages like this one. The way I see it, I have one of three options.
1. HIATUS = until the beginning of August, after I move into my house back at school with my totally smokin' friends. This is the route I would least like to take, but is reserved as a last resort nonetheless. If 1Q went on hiatus, though, that would mean that Daisy and Moira and Roy would start updating again, because I need to be doing something artistic this summer to keep myself in shape.
2. DELAYED UPDATES = updates would spread out to once every two or three weeks. Though you would have to wait a little longer for your pages, they would be forthcoming. DMR would probably update once or twice.
3. ASSISTED COLORIST = would help me by doing half the work. I'll admit, I really want to do this part all by myself because I've been waiting to do this scene for six years, but if I want to keep a regular schedule I'll have to suck it up. The pages I'd really been wanting to do I'd color myself and make it work in time for regular updates. I have one particular person in mind, but I still need to talk to her about it (She probably knows who she is from just reading this--- and don't worry, Waz, I know how busy you are, I won't suck you into working on my stuff. XD).

Again, I'll keep you posted as to how things turn out. I don't want to leave you in the dark.
Don't forget, you can discuss today's page in the forums with both me and other people who read the comic. ;)
