Sorry For The Wait (NOTICE)

NOTE: This is not a Crimson Shifters official page.

-----

I'm terribly sorry for the wait, everyone. It's time to be honest.

My life has not been the best recently. I abandoned alot of things that meant the world to me, Crimson Shifters was one of them. I'm at a very rough patch in my life, with my family breaking apart, not knowing what I want to do with my life, losing a grandmother to a battle she cannot win, and not having a place to stay (in an emotional context).

I forgot what meant most to me throughout this time of loss and restructure: Stories. Telling them, partaking in them, and experiencing them. I need to share my love of them with you all, and I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I AM here for the long haul, it just may be a bit longer than what you're used to.

Here's a speedpainting I did recently that should tide you over until my next page, which I'm working on as we speak. It's of Assassin's Creed, a game I enjoy very much.

I'll be back before you know it, and loaded with material that will make the ridiculous waits worth it in the end. Thank you for your patience.

Chapter 1: Page 6

Sorry for the hiatus, I'm in the process of moving out-of-state.

----

Xero walks home after (another) unsuccessful attempt at getting a legit bounty hunter's license. He wants to discuss life's random crap with Raijin, but he's out and about, doing what he does best: losing their money by gambling. The introduction of Raijin, coming soon!

See You Soon

Life has a funny way of coupling everything up, and dishing out its karma in one mega-event. In the past two days, my world has shifted for the worse, and it's time to do some soul-searching. The good news is, I'll be back very soon, as I'll use Crimson Shifters as an outlet for this change.

Change is good. Embrace it. Always remember, though, look after yourselves, as you'll never know when you might need to change.

Chapter 1: Page 5

Hhmm, David's regulation processing didn't go through. This doesn't happen to everyone. In fact, this barely happens at all...

---------

This page was fairly easy, and I'm getting pretty excited, simply because the story's about to kick in. It's very dialogue heavy, and it'll stay that way throughout the first chapter or so, but trust me, the action will be very worthwhile.

As usual, I used Photoshop and my Wacom. Had a little bit of wine, too. Metallica's the music of the moment, which could explain a bit of the harsh brushwork on some of it.

Hope you enjoy CS so far, and I'll see you on the 12th!

Chapter 1: Page 4

So, we finally have a name for our "main" character: David Avalon.
-------
This was a tough page, for a few reasons.

From a narrative perspective, how do you make general dialogue interesting? I tried to be a bit dynamic with the last panel, simply for that reason.

From a personal standpoint, I'm still trying to find a style that's simple, effective, but most importantly, interesting to look at. This page is a bit more 'line heavy' than the previous, and I'm not sure how I enjoy it. It makes the pages easier to make, sure, but I'm wondering how you all feel about it.

Definitely let me know, as I'm in a state of confusion about it. Also, having exposed nerve endings in my tooth (and not having insurance to go to the dentist) isn't a good thing to have while creating a page of a comic. :P

Thanks for reading my long rant, I'll see you all on the 5th of August!
