Please Wait... (some more)

I know, I know, I said I'd give you guys a heads up this Monday, and now it's Friday. I'm not a flake in person, but I'm really making myself out to be a flake online. That's no good.

So, anyway, the reason I haven't been able to update is because I'VE BEEN SO BUSY WITH SCHOOL. Essay here, exam there, meeting there, another essay here, throw all of that in with a bunch of morning shifts at my work, this has been one hectic week for me. It's been nonstop, and the few hours I allowed myself to take a break from homework and studying were spent sleeping or relaxing my poor brain. Cho in this 'Please Wait...' is basically me three hours ago.

But thankfully it's all over now. Expect an update on Monday!

Please Wait...

Sorry, guys. Monday and Tuesday were extremely busy for some reason, and now that I have a night to myself, I'm just too tired to function correctly. I want to say expect an update on Thursday, but Wednesday and Thursday are looking extremely packed as well.

I'll give you guys a shout if I have to delay Al De Baran further.

Al De Baran 259

Well, I don't think Karel has to worry much about money for a while!

(Note: What Karel has in his hands is a card, an item that is dropped very rarely by monsters. Cards can be sold in the thousands and even millions! Players equip them on their armor to give themselves higher stats or special skills, so monster cards are in very high demand.)

Al De Baran 258

#258 just did NOT want to get published. I'll copy-paste the reason why I missed Thursday last week: "*head-desk* Sorry guys. Rarely there are times where I don't update because I simply can't come up with what strip to make next. This happened on Thursday and Friday. Mega writers block. I finally did come up with an idea, but it's so close to Monday that I might as well just wait until then to update. Sorry, guys. :( " And for some reason this strip took forever to do. It's not that complicated, either.

I dunno, some strips take only an hour or two, and others just take HOURS. This one took HOURS.

Gwargh, anyway...time for another round of RPG-mechanics-explained-logically! (We've already got contact gems and pack orbs...) In RPGs there's always certain items you collect from monsters after you defeat them. Wing of bat, eye of snake, and so on. Well, what's wrong with the rest of the body? And why would any NPC buy those kind of things from you? Well, I figure that for whatever reason, there's a certain demand for wings of bats and eyes of snakes. Maybe medicine, or maybe they're tasty. So that's how adventurers know what to bring back and why NPCs are so willing to pay for random monster body parts.

For Rune-Midgard, the number of monsters is up in the hundreds so it makes sense that the shopkeepers would release guidebooks for the items they'd want and how much they'd pay for them.

But some of the items...they make you wonder. Why would anyone want a stinking fish scale? Or the ponytail of a dead boy? Or a rotting bandage taken from the flesh of a zombie? Oh well, I'm sure there's SOME good reason why those crafty NPCs want all of that stuff...
