The Cast: Jabali / Warhog

Hi guys, Two more after this one to start the comic.

Sorry for the delay, I'm back from vacations where I had two great weeks of sun, sand and beach. I guess that's the best thing of living in a tropical island but the worse part is that hurricane season started and just this past weekend a storm (Anna) just missed us (thanks god). There's another one in route (Bill) due for Thursday but, god willing, forecast its very positive that that storm will miss us also.

Some pictures of sunny Puerto Rico.

The Cast: Alafta Erus

Sorry for updating late this week, most of the pages are ready since I'm working in this comic to have a decent buffer so I can make sure to deliver the up dates at least once a week. This week has been crazy at work not to complain much about that because at least I have a job but its been busy. Not only that, I woke up
yesterday with a splitting headache but still went to work needless to say I wasn't in the mood to post yesterday's up-date (I'm sorry).

Anyway, that was then this is now. Hope you like todays up-date.

For you guys that don't know Alafta here's a link:

Alafta is the main character of Novus Genesis created by Rigo "Scorp" Jimenez.

She's the middle between Order & Chaos or as we say here in the Island; "el jamón del sanwich" . The translation for that is "the ham of the sandwich" or the part that adds flavor to the mix.

Thanks for watching.

The Cast: Lord "W"

Here's one of the Villains of the tale.
Two Face is one of my favorite villains in Batman. The Idea of split personalities is a fascinating one. Not matter ow good a person you think you're we always have a mask. There's a face we show everyone and another that we keep for ourselves and close ones. Could you imagine the possibilities or consequences if we could literarily split ourselves?

... I'm just saying.

Anyway, I want to thank you guys for the great respond it's been amazing.

The Cast: Mr. Whatever

Hello guys, Wow!
I wasn't expecting lots of comments, of that, I'm grateful.
Thank You.

1) First my thanks to Midge for some inputs and info about re-booting this comic and also I copy from him the idea of showing the cast of the comic prior to the story. I love what he did with BLOODHOUND so readers can get familiarized with the characters from the start.
Please go check The Midge comic Bloodhound by clicking the Hot Girl

2) I will like to clarify the inspiration behind the creation of Mr Whatever. It was clear to me that by the color of the skin, no eyeglasses and no cigar, readers will assume the character was not Groucho Marx. I guess wrong but that is totally my fault and not the readers.

3) The inspiration for Mr Whatever was Don Albizu Campos, a freedom fighter form where I come from; Puerto Rico. Here are some pictures of the him and if you click the pictures it will lead you to a "wikipedia-bio" of him.

4) Mr.&TSS its not a political comic, I will like to clarify this because here in Puerto Rico the face of Don Albizu is widely used in t-shirt just like "El Ché Guevara" . History says that Don Albizu was against the USA occupation of the island. It also says that he was tortured using radiation poisoning by US and local officials . Is not my purpose or the comic to make an opinion on this fact. I just want to play with the cliché that in the world of comics; radiation will give you superpowers instead of a deadly cancer or a horrible death.

5) Regarding Up-dates: I would love to make those on a weekly basis but I also would like to make the best possible artwork, that means that I rather load the best possible page than loading a weekly page that I may not be proud of.

6) This comic will also be loaded in spanish. Press the little banner to check it out.

Cover #1

Hi guys, I know, long time since my last post and really I have no excuses for my lack of updates. I do have good news, or at least good news for me. Things took a crazy turn in the past FCBD (free comic book day) Rigo, Alvaro and I had an invitation from our local comic store to go and showcase our stuff. To say the truth we didn't expect a lot. It's been more than a year that I haven't print anything and Rigo and Lance were only doing their respective web-comics on DD but weren't sure if they have local readers or local support. Still we went, not with high hopes, but with the idea of having a good time and we did. To our amazement we had people at our table, we gave away the free stuff we had and someone stole one of Alvaro's comics that he had for sale (btw, he sold some copies of his comic too). The owner of the store ask me if I was going to print another comic and that she liked what she saw at our table. That small question "spark" the idea of printing another comic and was the reason for my hiatus.

When I first started here at DD I just had a crude idea for a web-comic and a prolonged story. My previous work were only short and self contained stories but I wanted to do something a bit more complicated so I started with Jabali to see what happen. I was surprised by the response and also noticed how Mr. Whatever move from a second string character to be the main character.

But to say the truth I wasn't too happy with the comic, It had to many grammatical errors and some pages were a bit rushed, If I wanted to print the comic, I needed to do a better work and so it was the Idea of Mr. Whatever and the Spectrum Surfers was born.

I hope you guys enjoy this.
