Chapter2_Issue013

Vin and a mysterious stranger clash briefly in the matrix.

A fairly simple issue, mainly because I decided on a few things to make my comic more accessable.

First of all, I've vowed to use LESS TEXT PER COMIC.
Seriously.
Not only can I stretch this mini series into a superfuckingomgwhylong series if I use less text (Like Dragon Ball Z!) I can also include more visual action, which, I guess this comic sometimes lacks, at least, I'm capable of much more.

Second: Gabriel & Vinnie's "sprites" (that is, their persona icons) are, Quite obviously, Porgon & Senretsu, respectively. I did this for fun, so that I would have to work less on specialized "Matrix Personas" for my characters, and also to hammer in which character belongs to who into my readers heads.

Anyway, I've got an update for D&D slated in the near future, keep your eyes peeled guys!

Chapter2_Issue 012 (Title Page)

Sup drunkduck.
So it may or may not be a secret that I'm back on the spriting scene. Me and the pixelpunks are still having major meatspace issues to deal with, but I'm slowly setting back up, and I've also set to work on re-organizing shadowrun's page layout. For one thing, I've re-organized the first 11 issues as "Chapter 1" and will continue with the whole "Chapter" scheme to keep everyone as on-track as possible with the oft-times confusing storyline.

Here's today's title page for chapter 2, which should inspire me into working harder on more sprites and backgrounds which I'll need to finish the SR storyline.

Also, I've been updating SG almost daily, I'm going to attempt for a biweekly update schedule. Check ya'll later!

Chapter1_Issue 011

Important FYI: I just got my 'net back after over a month of downtime. I seriously didn't abandon this comic yet. ^^;
(Copied and pasted from my Sheezyart.)

Ahoy! I can't tell you how many FAILED attempt's were made and how many floppy discs were lost trying to bring this issue to sheezyart. Much trouble! But, it's been made for 2 weeks, AT LEAST, and now that my internets reconnected I'm ready to plug myself back into the matrix and get started on some new issues!

Anywho, I've been playing shadowrun since I've been disconnected and I'm going to run a real campaign with the pixelpunks that I can pick up the story with once the pre-written storyline has climaxed into Vin & Gabe's current life.

Also, I'm getting my terms and the universe of Shadowrun more correct. I almost called a headset a "Commlink" the other day. That would be a horrible mistake to any true fan of the series, for reasons you don't really care to know. [XD]

Also, I must apologize for my banana-boat japanese. Anyone who can read/speak fluently will notice at least one mistake in Senretsu's speech, but in the least, there's rock-solid evidence I don't speak with my nose buried in a Jap-English dictionary. [^^;]

I mean, c'mon, even Megatokyo has fudged it's Japanese before.

So, in this issue, two subtle (I love being subtle with my storylines, if you hadn't noticed) things this issue teaches you:
One - Gabriel's deck has it's language interface set to Japanese as a default.
Two - Decker's use online persona's, which are customizable, from the image to the tools they can employ while flying through cyberspace.
Three - Deckers operate in hot or cold ASIST. Hot ASIST makes no effort to control the flow of data to the deckers brain, basically opening a beaver dam of information to flow into the datajack. Deckers operate MUCH faster this way, much more fluently and easily. However, a cyberdeck's ability to activate hot ASIST is precisely what makes it illegal, and possibly lethal; a decker's brain can get overloaded by ICE and fried, flatlining the decker.
Four - To connect the characters in the readers mind a little, I've decided that Vinnie uses Senretsu as his persona, which, more or less he's stolen a custom persona written by Gabe. =D

Anyway, already tl;dr. Peace, seeya next issue.
-Senretsu

PS:
One last important note, I've changed the font to more closely resemble the font used in the official shadowrun rulebooks. Enjoy the taste of Authenticity!

Chapter1_Issue 010

Behold! Issue 10 has cometh!

And now the story gets really interesting. We discover Hugo's responsible for Gabe's Revolver preference in a world of tricked out mega-weapons. That big brown thing sticking out of his crotch is NOT a codpiece, but an antique LeMat, a huge blackpowder revolver with a secondary barrel for buckshot shells from the Western Days. And how did Hugo know who the hell the lost boys were? Simple, he was keeping tabs on Vinnie from the get-go.

Also, I really must apologize for how cramped and confusing this page is. Considering each psd file of Shadowrun has like, a zillion layers, I would've re-arranged it. But it's just too complicated to do this far into the project. Seriously though, I'ma do my best to assure the next issue is more... legible.

Anyway, this page is essentially about Hugo. Elves are born with any range of hair-color, not just the mundane red, blonde and brunette. More rare are the purebreds that are extremely long lived, such as Hugo. Which explains how he came to a position of such knowledge and power. Tir Tairngire is the Elven country in the future, located quite close to where modern-day Europe is.

Bōsōzoku? Look it up on Wikipedia, they're badasses!
Anywho, see you all next issue. =D

Chapter1_Issue 009

Ahoy! Shadowrun 9 has hit the shelves!

I was thinking of throwing in a big action scene between Vin and Bikedude, but me and Porg decided Shadowrun isn't exactly an action comic. It's more pulp fiction noir mixed with grim, dark, gritty crime drama. So! I did the montage thing, I faded out so that it felt like more time has passed than it really has.

Anywho, don't think that was the last you'll see of Bikedude. EVERYTHING needs moar bikedude.

But I thought it was about time I moved on with the plot, I think we've seen enough gangbanger wars for one chapter. Hi-ho! To the safehouse! And I'll seeya next issue/omake. I DREW VINNIE UP LAST NIGHT. :D
