Flashbacks! Colours that aren't brown or orange! Spooky probing robot arm machines! Wacky panel layouts! It's all going on right here.

Pretty happy with the way this turned out, except for perhaps Samantha's expressions, which could do with being more, well, expressive. Still, I think it still conveys the idea she's concerned for Ashley, so I guess its okay.

Back to Dalahan and friends soon.

Filler: Elicier & Maximilian

'tis Lis and Max, in the flesh!

This is some concept art I did which I randomly decided to clean up and colour. These guys will turn up later on in the proper story. I wish they were doing more than just making vague walking motions, but oh well, bit late now.

Anyway, sorry for filler, next page soon.

WHAT'S GOING ON? TWO PAGES IN ONE DAY? BLFUH?

Yeah its a double page update, since I've been so shitty at putting out pages, its the least I could do. Even though its been so long that I would have done at least two pages anyway, but never mind about that.

So then, the spooky floaty things from that other page are appearing, and Samantha can't see them. She's not awesome enough to be in the floaty-thing-seeing club. Or something. Ashley's freaked out! How mysterious.

Next page will be awesome.

Final year exams were causing me to gnaw on my own nervous system while doing this page, so its probably not my best work.

I know I didn't actually show Samantha being reckless and getting injured. Perhaps I should have done? Anyway, just assume she wasn't concentrating and stepped out of Ashley's shield area or something. I was just trying to show their personalities with this scene. It was going to have an extra page of this too, but I felt it was just labouring the point a bit. Yeah ok, Ashley's a bit of a nagging type person, and Samantha is a bit of a loose cannon sometimes, WE GET IT.

Dialogue could be better in this page since I had to combine two pages into one and it was fiendishly tricky.

The inside of the building looks a bit bare. It's supposed to, it's not been fully built yet. They just recently found that temple down there and quickly whacked up some stuff to attempt to keep it somewhat secure from other factions. Clearly didn't work too well.

So yeah.

It's that time of year again! Remnants update time!

How DO you represent a sigh in a comic anyway? I was going back and forth on how to do it. Its meant to be an annoyed sigh at Ashley's 'lecturing', rather than a sigh of relief regarding the healing, so it needed that annoyedness about it too. I think the method I chose communicates the idea well enough.

I could have just used dialogue of course, but where's the fun in that?

Over the next few weeks I'm going to be EXPERIMENTULATING on some looser drawing styles, as I'm sick of these pages taking 20+ hours to draw, its completely ridiculous at the moment. Since this is still a practice run before doing my REAL comic, its probably best to iron out the whole 'month between updates' thing now rather than later. I will try to post up some of the results of experimenting in the near future, then back to the comic. Stay tuned and all that.
