#151 Wardrobe

Things are going to get rocky. Crunch-time is beginning at work again, and these days I want to be extra sure to prove I'm a worthwhile employee. I'll keep trying to update, though. At least this week will be nice because it's Thanksgiving. But my family is coming to visit, so I'll still be pretty busy.

Here are replies to some of the comments on the previous page:
Xenterex - I didn't know what you meant by "brown sword" until I realized you got what I was alluding to in the page title.
magicalmisfits - Honestly, yeah, it's a bit of a stretch that she's holding up that armor so well. It must be sheer willpower.
Doctor Shadow - Thanks!
Tinala - Indeed he can't as you'll see in this page!
jiminycricketX - I didn't know what DPS meant either. I thought maybe it stood for "Devoted Pirate Slayer", which is just one of Tadashi's roles.
Loud_G - I agree, let her in! It would be fun to see how Brooke handles an assignment.
Hoolo - I got a good laugh when you mentioned putting Lane in a sidecar.... I kind of want to draw it.
b_templar428 - Alec's just too danged overprotective. Let's hope it doesn't backfire on him.
armored knight - Thanks, man! I hope to be able to keep going as long as I can.
TBustah - Yeah, I have a tougher time drawing motorcycles. There are so many more exposed parts to draw, and I don't have a real one to use as reference, just photos.
saphydawg - Thanks! I actually should stop trying to cover up the motorbike so much and just get more used to drawing them.

#150 It's Dangerous to Go Alone

It's too bad Alec doesn't drive a car, then Brooke could stow away in the trunk. And also I wouldn't have to draw that motorcycle. Dang that motorcycle.

Here are replies to some of the comments on the previous page:
ipokino - Maybe crime pays better now, but I have a feeling they still don't require much education to be a henchman. But maybe they'll surprise us.
Doctor Shadow - I'll lend you as many henchmen as you need. They come with great references.
jiminycricketX - True, videogames are definitely what ruined Meinji. They ruined me, too. Ruined in a good way.
b_templar428 - I've been hoping to show that the villains have been steadily getting better. Maybe guns WILL figure into the future.
jninjashadow - Don't fret! Rubik's Cubes come with instructions now! That's how I learned.
Tinala - Thank you!
giovanni - Thanks!
ZesuXII - Thank you for favoriting my comic. I'll try not to let you down.
Kaeoz Crimson - Now see, a henchman with THOSE credentials would definitely be questioned on his career choices.

#149 Planning with Henchmen

Sorry, guys. Over this past month I've been buying and moving into a new house. It's kind of a pain to uproot and move somewhere, but it's not so bad when you're excited to live in the house you're going to. But now I finally seem to have settled things down and gotten my computer set up and internet connection back.

Here are replies to some of the comments from the last page:

Doctor Shadow - Japanese people love the latest gadgets, so I wouldn't be surprised if they came up with excuses to throw out their old PS3's to get the new slim version. But for those who don't mind looting, what a find!
ipokino - That sounds awesome. I've actually been on the lookout for furniture lately, and I wish the people around here were a bit more wasteful!
Zane Solomon - A note taped to it? Sounds like they were sort of expecting somebody to pick it up. Interesting.
magicalmisfits - You see see what they do in Japanese bakeries. They cut off the heels and ALL of the crust, then throw it away. GOOD crust! But they won't waste rice. I sure miss those people.
electronb - They need to come up with some sort of cheaper way to get to Japan. Maybe they're working on teleporters over there.
Xenterex - You know, I never thought of smashing the stuff, but it would probably be a lot of fun. I'm sure they'd arrest you though. You'd be heard from a mile in any direction.
MasterofSporks - Thanks! I'm glad to hear that you like the subplots. I honestly wouldn't enjoy making the comic if I had to focus entirely on the main plot.
Tantz Aerine and Piro_con - Thank you!

#148 Daigomi

I wish this page was an exaggeration, but it's not. There really is a thing called "daigomi" (literally, "big garbage") in Japan. It's the day of the week you suddenly find a pile of appliances outside your apartment building. It makes for easy disposal of large items that don't fit in your trash can (dumpsters are uncommon in Japan).

Sometimes they're throwing away completely unusable items, but other times, the items only have minor blemishes and mild malfunctions. Why? My guess is that a constant thirst for the latest gadgets makes even small problems a good excuse to buy a new replacement.

While living in Japan, I was very tempted to use daigomi days as a chance to stock my apartment. This practice was not unheard of, but it's a bit disreputable. I did fine with what I had, though.

Replies to some of the comments from the previous page:

MarieNomad - Yeah, stay tuned for more. We probably haven't seen the last of this fued.
Hoolo - Interestingly enough, I had planned to have him spurting coffee out of his mouth in the third frame, but opted not to since he hadn't put the cup to his mouth yet. But yes, it's definitely a hazard one should avoid.
littletrinks - No, because Rogan can't break Lane's firewall, he's pranking Lane's grandma instead.
alik9 - True, but remember, these guys are criminals!
electronb - Locking the computer is exactly what my friends at work have started doing to avoid pranks. This has definitely caused a decrease in shenanigans.
Xenterex - That prank sounds both harmless and funny, which I think is the best kind of prank.
Mutation - LOL! brilliant! I might actually try that one at some point.
taltamir - You hit the nail on the head.
b_templar428 - Thanks for commenting when you can, though.
Evilgrunt, Renamon, anyannieany, nekodragon, and Doctor Shadow - Thank you!

#147 Digital Shenanigans

I made the humor more subtle in this page. You actually have to pay attention to what's going on and pick up the subtext of the situation. My friend didn't get it, but he said he was tired.

This was all inspired by my coworkers. They've been known to change people's desktop backgrounds to the most obscene things while they're away. Then, when the person comes back to their computer and brings it out of the screensaver, SURPRISE! Better change that wallpaper before the boss comes by. They haven't done it to me yet, and probably because they know they wouldn't get the reaction they want. I'm a very calm and dry person.

Here are replies to some of the comments on the last page:

Doctor Shadow - Thanks you!
MarieNomad - Yeah, that's likely it right there.
magicalmisfits - Thanks!
Tantz Aerine - Thank you!
Hoolo - It was actually only about 700 years ago. Still a long time, though. Poor Tadashi is either going to have to change his approach or find the rare girl that responds well to his methods.
Xenterex - Yes, the Foxx image was added only days before I updated with the previous page. I hope to get the entire main cast up there as random images. There aren't many left.
Graphictruth - Thanks! I've been hoping she comes off as endearing and not irritating.
electronb - Thank you!
Lautaro - Thanks!
XanderXeroFiasco - Thank you for the site feedback... I don't usually get much feedback on the site itself. I'm actually in the middle of designing a new layout and I hope to keep it as smoothly-flowing but more attractive and space-efficient.
