42-Cornered!

Don't take what Marke says seriously. I think this comic was influenced very heavly by Futurama, thus the strangly random humor. Seriously, half that script was made up as I looked at the final art.

And speaking of the final art....what the crap happened to it?! o.O First I forget to draw the design on the cover, and then there's that finger! Seriously, whats up with that second panel? I'm good at drawing fingers, but I just wnet overboard with Marke's finger there. Makes people hopefull that I'll draw better! XD

So anyway, I'm going on a short retreat, where I will hopefully kill any artist's block I have. Or just spend the whole trip playing video games. I hope the latter doesn't happen...but seeing as how both my grandpa and my uncle are gamers...;-;

41-Storage Space

I pretty much just chicken scratched this comic, and some of the art actually turned out okay. Wierd. Goes to show you, stuff looks best when you're not careing. Or when you listen to Kingdom Hearts in the background. Either/or.

So, sorry about missing a few updates. I havnt just been playing video games, y'know. I've been playing around with art on the Paint.NET. I kinda like it, but don't like it. Not the best program ever or anything, but it's easier to get art that fits what I was thinking on it...

Filler-Gamin' On the Greatest Station

Hey, it's summer vacation. I get to screw around as much as I like! Those are all the games I've been playing the most, except Densetsu 3 up there to to right. I just put that in cause "Deathjester" sounds downright friggen silly. I find myself screaming "DEATHJESTAH!" each time I see him XD Notice that kirby is up there as well. I blame YOU! >.o

Actually, I'm suprised at how much the SNES was capable of. I mean, alot of the Square stuff has full voice cutscenes, which I thought was impossbile on the SNES. And, current games may have some neat 3D stuff...but it's amazing what you can do with pixels, it can look really beautiful. And there's alot of innovation going on, especially in Square's games. I mean, why has Square continued the FF franchise so much? There are some truly amazing games with WAY better battle systems than the unrealistic ATB. Better battle systems THEY made up! Are we just not importing alot of Squares stuff from Japan? I'm only a casual gamer, I really don't know these things XD

Sooooo Dirty Pages is kinda stuck because I'm stuck on games. I'm a horrible obsessvie person, with no sense of schedule unless its set down by the higher powers, ie my boss telling me to come to work XD

40-The Blank Book Of Infinite Knowledge

Think wikipedia, only there's no jerks changing the facts at whim and it's more for practical use than just information overload. And size wise, the books's about the same size as...oh, say the third Harry Potter book, before those things got jumbo/LARGE.

Ick, I hate this page. I just hate it. Idve burned it if it wasn't so important. I suppose throwing rocks at it's bad art and stupid explaination will do *chucks pebbles at comouter screen*

And, I'm addicted to the SNES emulator I got on monday. I've always wanted one, but why now do I get one? That's what ruined my art, right there. Too. Much. Gaming.

39-Books and A Back Pocket

...Well, large again...and the last panel is off due to a thunderstorm that was coming in, and I didn't want to get the page wet. I really need a scanner at my house. Oh, and I put words on the book. Eh, one word. And a Purovam symbol thing.

Okay, so actually this comic was brought to you by a smattering of Trigun and Azumanga Daioh, but I wanna talk about Akira right now.

I don't like alot of modern works. Alot of people rave about a bunch of current titles, but do they really have any meaning behind them? I mean, where's the point behind Naruto and Bleach? They're just pure action, beneath the surface there's no true meaning and you really dont ponder about it for very long. But in Akira, there's lots going on. It's not just an action flick/comic. It's got some really deep meanings and symbolisms behind all the action. Okay, alot of people say it didn't make much sense, especially the ending, but thats the point! It makes you THINK! which is what people seem to hate >.o

But besides the great meaning behind it, it's a horribly realistic world Otomo writes for us. What happens is incredibly natural, even from the unnatural powers. There is alot of blood, but it doesnt spew everywhere like in most fantasies, it leaks. Very naturally. Charactor movements, limitations, and emotions are VERY realistically portrayed. Every minute I watch/read Akira, I think "this could really, really happen." because nothing is exagerated to the great heights of normal fantasy.

And the fact that it's not as exagerated as normal fantasty makes me really get into it! I mean, in most fantasies, I just know that the hero can't die, not until the very end of the story at least. But in Akira, I really worried that any one charactor could die at any second, really a panicing worry!

So, if you havnt watched the movie Akira or read the comics, which are both good in thewir own way, go watch and read em! I still think they're the greatest thing ever, dispite being made twenty years ago. Way cooler that silly Bleach. All that has running for it as far as I see are the diverse charactor designs. Those insane plot twists just make it worse rather than better...but thats a rant for another day...
