| | jazzy | I just want to begin by saying, that in all of my four years of high school, my guidance counselor never once called me by my right name. I just let him. It was kind of amusing.
Now, I remember vividly my senior year and the moment that I told my guidance counselor that I wanted to be a chef. I remember him going on and on about how he loved the Food Network, esp. "that BAM fella", as he put it. And, also a summer that he worked a food stand on the beach, and how much fun that was.
Here's the thing... how is it that these jokers, who seem to only excel at getting fat asses and constantly having stale coffee breath, are allowed to offer career advice to young impressionable minds?
Now, I'm not saying that it's solely his fault that I've spent the past ten years busting my ass on a daily basis. And, I would never trade in my experiences, or any of the wonderful, unique, and interesting people I've met as a cook/chef. My beef is with the fact that someone who had never cooked professionally a day in their life ( excluding the summer shack ), and whose only idea of the service industry is Emeril on The Food Network should not have been qualified to offer any kind of guidance on the subject.
Mr. Myz. if your out there...
FUCK YOU!
PS-If you're thinking about joining the few, the proud, the service industry elite...for the love of all things holy, wash dishes for a year or so before making up your mind!
