| | jazzy | Arguably, the two words heard most in restaurant kitchens are, "behind you"!
People are intently focused on what they are doing, and moving extremely fast to get it done. Not mention, what they are working on usually involves: fire, knives, searing hot pans, etc...
I can not tell you how many times I've seen one cook whip around into another cook (who didn't say these magic words) resulting in a very serious injury(s).
The moral of this story...
If you should find yourself in restaurant kitchen, say, "behind you" when walking behind someone.
It just might save your life.
Plus it usually gets a laugh from the kitchen perv.
You'd think it would get old after awhile.
But it doesn't. :) -Posted on Oct 22, 2007 | | User: deg3666 | | 5 | | My favorite was always... "Hot Stuff comin' through... and I gotta pan" -Posted on Jul 13, 2009 | | User: ifelldownthestairs | | 5 | | heh... that's funny, my joke for that has always been "behind you!" And, if you're walking with a hot pot, or whatever, there's the "Hot, behind you!". But, that's another strip! -Posted on Oct 23, 2007 | | User: djhombre | | | I've cooked with more mexicans than I have guero's... so I hear "atras" more.
I've never seen anyone stabbed though from not hearing a "behind"... would be interesting. -Posted on Oct 23, 2007 | | User: Ersatz | | 5 | Do any of them say it a pervy voice?
