Help, Support and Suggestions
Apparently it won't let me read the comics now.

Apparently it wants me to, all of a sudden, sign up to be a Drunk Duck Premium subscriber to read comics.

It all works fine for me, even singned out and on IE9 with no ad blockers.
Could
have been a tempory thing and or mistake. I know we've been discussing a
way to add extra features and a way to make the site more appealing to
advertisers while keeping the adult stuff and keeping the main stuff
free and accessable...
But that was all theory as far as I knew.
Anyway, I'm not expereincing these issues. Are they over now?

The issue is still there. I have a friend who (I guess is using IE), but I'm using Chrome and Firefox and still get that message. For a while, refeshing it would make it go away, but now it's not working.
I believe (and hope) it's some stupid scam that will get fixed because if I have to pay to upload my comics, I'd just as soon go somewhere else. I'm not making money off my comics, so I don't see why someone else should.

Still the same for me too. Tried refreshing but still just getting the white screen and premium subscriber box. I am also using Google Chrome.

Hey-o!
I was able to read several pages, but then that white box popped up.
Even hitting the back button to pages I've already viewed they're all blocked.

I've already had to change the url on The Webcomic List to the Smackjeeves site just so visitors can actually read it. If the problem can't be fixed quickly I'm leaving Drunkduck. Bad enough when I try to upload or read comics and keep getting "bad gateway" errors. At least those go away after a while.

Roight! It's still not comming up for me, Signed ot or even signed in as an admin or non-admin user is Firefox or IE9.
BUT, having a look at the blockable items on adblocker I saw entries for Media pass!
SO, as a temporary fix, if you're running firefox, install adblocker here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/
Now when you're on a DD page, click your adblock icon, if you've got one up, look at the list of blockable items, select them and block them one by one.
-Meebo and Media pass would be the ones to kill :)
I DO hope that works! Will have to see waht I can find out about the rest.

FIXED! so far anyway...
There must be something extra-sneaky about MediaPass because I already had Adblock Plus. Figured it would have taken care of the problem automatically.
Nice work, m'man. Next time something like this comes up I'll know exactly what to do.

Excellent!
I posted a link for Adblocker on Chrome but it seems not to show up.
If anyone has chrome, just do a Google search for Ad blocker on chrome and you'll get it :)
I've emailed Jacob at Wowio. It's 12.50 am right now in LA though so it'll be at least 9 hours before I get any answers. :(

I had the problem too, but I modified my adblocker as per Oz's instructions, and it's all good now.

Jacob emailed me back to say that he was dealing with it.
Apparently it's an ad provider than has gone weird or something.

I have Adblocker taking care of the site.
For Chrome, when you're on any DD site, right-click the Adblocker icon, go to "options", go to the "add your own filters" tab, in the field type "www.mediapass.com" and then click "+ add filter" and then go back to your DD site and reload the page. That should do it for Chrome. That worked for me, anyway.

Although other people visiting the site won't necessarily know how to deal with it. You'll have to figure out where this adware thing comes from and get rid of it somehow.
