How can I put these things on my DD site?  I can figure out how to change the colors and such of the layout that's there, but there doesn't appear to be a way to add extra buttons and ads to it.  I'm trying to duplicate the layout I have at xtin.net - ad banner on the right, vote and donate buttons beneath.

Unfortunately wowio removed some functionality when they upgraded the site. They removed the ability for users to put ads on their page (and also their ability to use custom HTML)... they intended to get some customization back in and allow project wonderful ads, but they didn't get any of that done before they had to stop development until they secured more funding.
 
I think you can still hack vote and donation buttons, just create them as 'links' - just the image with the URL to the vote site or paypal. You can't use the ones where it dynamically updates your ranking or anything though.

Well that sucks - they put 3 ads on my comic, but I can't put one on.
