I'm sure the answer to this is a really simple one, but I've just started using Photoshop Elements and for the life of me I cant sve my work in a format that will let me upload my comics! Anyone know how to do this?
Also, I might have forgotten how to make a thumbnail.
Thanks!

Well, I haven't used Elements, but I do use CS5, so I'm assuming they're similar enough that I can help you.

1) Just go to File > Save As and then yes, there are a ton of options for file formats there, but the one you want is most likely jpg or png. Now, jpgs can make an image lose quality, but I find that as long as you save it as a high quality jpg (in the image options box that pops up automatically, select 8 at least), then IMO jpg is the best. I save 99% of my drawings as 8-quality jpgs. You can also use png, if you like.

2) By thumbnail, you mean the one you upload to DD for your comic? I'm assuming you want to make one by cropping existing art, right? Then the easiest way to do that in Photoshop, I think, is this -
First, go to File > New and make a new file at 80 x 100 pixels. Then go to File > Place and select a drawing to place. When it's placed, you'll automatically go into a mode where you can resize it, so go to the corner of the placed picture, hold down Shift (on a PC... can't remember what it is for Mac) and drag the corner to resize (holding Shift makes it so it resizes proportionately, not skewing it weirdly). I'm assuming here that the drawing is bigger than 80 x 100, of course, so, basically just mess with how big or small it is (remember that if you make it bigger than its original size, it gets blurry and pixelated) and what part is showing through the "window" of 80 x 100.
You can also just make a thumbnail for DD in MS Paint by making a black, 1px line weight box of 80 x 100 and placing it on an image, then erasing the excess outside the box. Bear in mind that will include a black line around your image, though - if you want it without a line, make the box 81 x 101 and erase the line.

Wow, that ended up longer than I thought! I hope it makes sense. If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

does elements have a save for web function?
I usually use that for building pages
sometimes if the bit-depth thingy isn't right under edit>modes (does elements have something like that?) then that can end up disabling some of the saving features

Mine certainly does. It's under the File selections along with all the saving options. I have an old edition, though, so your mileage may vary.
