I'd like to throw in my creation Cat-Kid!
Alex Conrad, everyone's typical high school student has his life completely turned upside down when his father, a world famous egyptologist retuns from his latest adeventure. But why are men after Alex's father? And he has he given Alex a strange stone before once again leaving?
These questions are soon answered when Alex morphs into a cat like creature that the anceint Egyptians had dubbed The Guardian.
Alex as Cat Kid does his best to protect his city and in his short time as a hero has already done everything from stopping a crazed school shooter to saving the world.
I definatly think he could give the team a street level hero and provide some comedic relief with his quick wit and smart ass attitude.

Koikoi: Thanks for the pic and info! Very neat.

Eric_blitz: Cool character! Does he have any special powers beyond looking like a cat?

Why, yes he does!
Enghanched reflexes, agility, and endurence, along with hightend sences. He also has razor sharp claws and above average strangth and speed (meaning he probably couldnt lift a car above his head, but he could defianrtly bench more then anyone in the wight room, and has roughly the speed of an olympic level runner).
It is also worth mentioning that in his true form, his human state, Alex Conrad has no powers. He has the strength, speed, agility, and all that of any athletic 16 year old.

I'm working on a hero ninja who works in Japan - I'm currently working on his look for when he comes in HA. I'm struggling trying to find a name for him, though. Does anyone have a good one for a ninja like him?

He's a lone samurai in Osaka, Japan. He acts the way Batman does in terms of Gotham - he is invested in the streets and cleaning them up. He wields a sword and sticks to the shadows.

What about Baku. In Japanese mythology a Baku is a beast that eats nightmares.

That's pretty cool. There's going to be a ninja clan in this story and I think I'll cool them the Baku - it makes them scarier than just a name I was going for. Regarding this hero, I'm leaning towards "The Ronin"

Ronin sounds cool! But I think that Marvel already has a ninja character with that name. Why not try "The Shinobi" literally meaning "The Ninja".
Anyway, If you ever needhelp with anything regarding Ninjas just ask me because I took Ninjitsu for a couple of years and still have my notes laying around.

My issue with Shinobi is the fact maybe it's a little too Japanese, if you get what I mean? There's already quite alot of ninjarey and japanese words that I thought "The Ronin" sounds dark enough. I understand there's a Marvel one - I haven't read him/her but I think mine will be pretty dark in comparison.

Yeah, copyright is abit of an issue. Is there anything else that sounds a little like "Ronin" meaning something to do with ninja/samurai stuff? I like Shinobi, but then it doesn't sound as dark when saying it as Ronin does.

Regarding copyright: The fact that there's a character with the same name doesn't automatically mean that the name is copyrighted. There are three or four "Bombshell" characters I'm aware of, but as far as I know, it's completely legitimate to sell a Bombshell comic (I looked through the copyright office database: http://www.copyright.gov). [copyright.gov] I had to learn this the hard way, since I actually came in contact with a fraud who claimed he had the rights to that name - turns out he didn't. I bet a name like "Ronin" isn't too rare - I mean, there's even a movie with that name.

The only problem with these two "Ronin's" is that they may be too much alike in terms of copyright. Both are ninjas fighting the Japanese underworld with relationships with a superhero team. I know I've said mine is darker, but if people just look at this as a copy of the Marvel Ronin - I'd rather the name was different just so they don't constantly think back to the Marvel Ronin. - If that makes sense lol

And the copyright legalities aside, one can run into the problem of trademark.  I'm sure Marvel has a strong trademark on Ronin, so it would be difficult to negotiate with that.

Actually, I find it interesting it Bombshell, Abt.  You seem to e the first to have put a comic named as such on IndyPlanet, but there is another Bombshell series currntly on there.  Knowing Marvel's dealings over the years with Captain Marvel, of needing to put out a book every so often with that name so DC can't do so with their character, it makes me think that, if you wanted to, you might be able to stake a claim on the Bombshell name.  I don' think you would do that t that other creator, though, so I think that makes the name "Bombshell" a bit less problematic for one to use.

Legal stuff is weird, though.  Like with the public domain--I love the characters that have entered it, but nothing else really can in the US (thanks to Disney and Sonny Bono) and it's apparently possible now for works to be taken out of the public domain, which doesn't make sense to me.

Let me intoduce another character:
White Out
She is a school friend of Paper Airplane (and secretly has a crush on him), so uppon discovering his secret decides to become a super hero as well.
SHe was born a normal baby but because of chorolating anger with physical and extreme activity, her epigenetics changed (gene expression) so now depending how angry she becomes, she obtains a certain amount of superhuman streanth. Unfortunally she has anger management issues and could care less about ethics, but thankfully she ends up doing the right thing in the end.
Her Face:

Her costume (Just replace the red with black):

The Bujin - Kenuicho Yakuri
He's not actually going to be a proper member of the team but will help out if asked and HA will help him out if he asks etc.
He's going to appear in my ninja issue - so here's the ref.

I don't think we've actually seen much of Amalgam - especially not him in a costume of sorts. He is making his HA debut in my ninja story though, so I whipped up the designs myself. I hope no one minds.

So here are a couple of my OC's. Sadly going undrawn becasue all my coloboraters meet unfornuate cirmcumstances ;_; If anyone wants to draw them feel free to PQ for more detail.
DR·NEW·EXCLUSIVE

After an accident involving pandimensional super Troophants,
DR·NEW·EXCLUSIVE has a stenographic map of the universe cosmically grafted
into his head. His entire brain, skull and face is a massive ever changing assemblage
of panels from seemingly random scenes in time in space. He can taste tomorrow
he can smell yesterday and he can breathe entropy.  His skin is a compressional two-dimensional
microcosm of the Teraverse itself.  He is
the ultimate fore in facing the beyond and the harbinger of all that is to
come.

Dḥwty, the Tri-man
The living arbitrator
of Fyat, the cosmic all-Maa’t that is the fundamental premise of reality. It is
the voice that spaketh the light, the fate that is woven into our strings, the
paint upon our codex. As the ever-present guardian of The Word, The Sophios,
The Trimestgus words, he can compose his wished by speaking to the rhythms of
the universe itself, the Book slave to the God-Pen that is its tongue. Is he guardian?
The new form of the thought dead E’ma-a, brought back from the Twilight on the Fastback
of the human mind? Or is he merely a madman blessed with the infipower that is
the Will of All? All are true, none are impossible, for the borders of reality
are mere footstools to the power of The Tri-Man!

Ascension
THOUSANDs OF YEARS AGO...
THERE CAME A TIME WHEN THE OLD GOD DIED...
The eternal cosmos paid host to the thousand glimmer treasures
of the hordes of Dyeus Pater and the lost Gaia-stones of the Haidou; but the grandest
treasures of all came from the God-Boxes of Seh-ul cast into the lower realms
by the endless fury of the Alter-Ones.

Young Jac Fince, druggy on the run from the demons of his soul
and man’s, came across one such glittery artifact perched across a time-lost
peak.  When he came to open it and release
its metamortal yields upon the trinatural plain, the very sanctity of the god
was unveiled to him!

The Uber-Oposium of Elysion, capable of healing all injury
beyond time itself!

The Siren Syringes of Shenés- the most saccharine of serums that renders even
the most feeble of minds with the interlaid function rhythms of the Krypto-Cosmos

The Kannavis of Parakatahris, who’s blinding Azure haze,
will shut any mind to view the true mysteries of the Bleaching World

The Ever-present Ex-Sta-SEE, whose deep blue truths allow
one to become one with the Omni-Soul

The Ster-Bile of the New-Bile: Given from the Augustine Elixir
of the Homeostatic Nuemestics, its dream-synthesis gives one the strength of a Decillion
Thoughts.

And ultimately, the Ur-Truth, the Final Fate all, Kwetwer-Duwo,
Sqaure, to line-line to one.  Total synthesis,
total synergy, total symphony.

With these blessed treasures of the gods, Jac Fince has ascended
the plain of one bound by mortal thoughts and pleasures and into a new realm as
THE ASCENSION!!!

In short, a man with an animated Newspaper of the Universe as a Head, a Person who can rewrite the comic he's in by talking to it. and a druggy who gets his superpowers from God's stash.

Chaos
This is a hero character I came up with a while back and would like to use in "Hero Features Presents".

Origin
Ben Wyndham was a teen genius (he's now in his early 20s) and a bit of a scientific superstar who got rich off his patents by the age of 12.  He used his wealth to indulge his private fascination for the martial arts, training with masters from around the world, obsessed with discovering the elusive formula for martial arts perfection.  Despite his best efforts and a high degree of natural aptitude, he found himself unable to break martial arts mastery down into a scientific formula.

Until one day, he was visiting his sifu in China for his monthly lesson and always ineffectual attempt to defeat sifu in hand-to-hand.  He watched and waited while sifu graciously assisted in training a group of novices.  Sifu had one student come at him to demonstrate defensive posture.  The student tripped and sprawled flailing, striking sifu and knocking him down as he fell.  Ben laughed and laughed and laughed and, as the koans say: at that moment Ben was enlightened.  Profoundly absorbing the lesson, Ben became the embodiment of randomness, his moves equal parts unpredictable and implausible.

In my head, in his first adventure leading up to him donning the costume he would've faced off against Jack-of-all-Trades from the Delegation of Hurt. Jack would've been responsible for the death of Prudence's former partner Patience.  Jack would have been unable to copy Chaos's combat style because it's completely inconsistent from moment to moment.

Costume: As the hero Chaos he wears a costume composed of a biopolymers of his own design across which bright colours constantly flow and morph and shift (imagine if Rorschach's mask was made of bright clashing colours and covered his entire body).  The lower arms and legs are dark.  Combined with how distracting the constantly changing torso is, this makes his limbs harder to notice and counter at night The biopolymer provides more protection than Kevlar.

Prudence
Prudence is Chaos's base-command and performs an intelligence function. She is the surviving half of the heroic once-duo Prudence and Patience and was saved by Chaos in the encounter that left Patience dead.
