Hi there. I keep getting 500 Internal Server Errors when trying to upload new comics today. I would sometimes get these errors in the past if I had any slightly unusual characters in my filenames, but there aren't any such characters with the comics I am currently trying to upload... the most "out there" character is a "_", and those are pretty integral to the internet in my experience...

I'm also getting a 500 error when trying to post a page. Also the home page isn't fully loading, it gets stuck at Quail's Random and doesn't load anything below that. (Using old Firefox on an older Mac.)

I've investigated and sent off a report to head office! This is serious people... we may have a zombie infestation! o_O

Seriously serious folks, I've reported it.
From what I've seen in the Admin system it looks like that part of the server is not accessable right now for some reason.
As you'll know from right-clicking on any pic our image servers are hosted with Amazon cloud servers and that's where the issue is, but there are backups and garuntees with all that sort of thing too.
For some reason the comic page upload system is down. This IS a server issue, not a coding problem or a bug. Hopefully it can be fixed with a reboot like usual.
We'll have to wait on the working day to start in LA first though.

Sorry for the delay and the issue!

The site was rebooted but that did not do anything for the issue. Other strategies are being worked on. I have no further info at this time, sorry.

I'm not quite sure what happened but I sent someone a PQ and then got a confirmation that it never got through.

The PQ isn't in my "sent" inbox, either, so it's looking like it got somehow lost. And before anyone says that I just forgot to press the send button, I have first hand eye witness seeing me send the post.
Those were my two cents.

I do not know what that could be PP. At the moment I'd imagine that it was probably some wierd glitch. I will try sending you a PQ to test it though.

Not sure if this belongs here, but didnlt know where else to put it ...
Someone called henderson10 is posting spam comics that appear to be advertising (I haven't actually viewed any of them). The last twn updates seem to be all henderson10 as I write this, and I don't want cheap Lious Vetton handbags with my comics.

Yup, and Bavolbavol too, the forum is now overrun with their spammy posts here too!
I'm kinda jealous that the spambot apparently has no character limit for its rollover description, ha!

Ah, but they're both back and apparently really mad, because they put a real nasty word in their names, spammin' the forums again :C
(unless that's an admin joke heh)
*facepalms* it probably was, since the post counts are at 0 sorrysorry!
Seems the spambots are upping their game, this is worrisome!

Hahaha! Yeah...
I put that in their names so I could easily find them in the system aaaand because I deleted all their stuff I thought it would never be seen. BUT I didn't count on how crappy the backend system is, the thread Topics are not connected to the posts, so I deleted one but not the other.
Anyway, I got it ALLLL now thank the gods!
That was quite a massive deluge.

Edit- just killed all their tutorials too! Jebus...

*snickers* I thought so, though it dawned on me right after I posted. :)
Agh it sounds like this was particularly troublesome to get rid of, I hope that we're not going to see a lot more of these...

From the looks of the spam I'd say it was a person rather than a bot. Usually they et bored with their spamming after a few tries and move onto another site.
so hopefully we'll be ok! ^_^

On the positive side, the 502 bad gateway error is becoming a rare sight.

Although, as a humorous jab, I feel compelled to point out that it got so bad, at times, that my browser learned to permanently associate drunk duck with the bad gateway error:

Those were my two cents.
