I have a question regarding CG programs.
I have 3 pages of grayscale gifs. The color palette is very small - just black, white, and a few select shades of gray.
Is there a way to painlessly remove only the black and white, but leave the grays as a layer for future use?
If there is a way, I most likely do not have the CG program required to do it... But first things first, is there a way?

[Q]How do I remove all of the black and white from a picture and leave only the grays behind?

The would be pretty simple. In photoshop you could simply use the magic wand tool with contiguos unchecked to select every instance of black on your page. Then you could copy that or delete it or whatever.
Repeat with the white and you are left with only the greys.
In paint shop pro you will use the color replace tool to replace all the instances of those colors (b&w)
Your channels may be able to isolate them as well.

Read "The Devon Legacy".

Or you can use Select> Color range and adjust the tolerance as necessary.
highest rating so far has been #11 in comic books, #13 overall. It's pageviews are almost half a million!!

Both GIMP and photoshop will select by color. I know where it is in GIMP, but not photoshop. I'm sure your local photoshop expert can tell you where, or just search the help by "select by color" or something.
