1. I'm not using copyrighted sprites.
All my previous comics were sprite comics. And, while that saved me a lot of time,
it also put several restrictions on my comics. Under the Fair Use laws, I could only
use those sprites if it was a tribute or a parody. That meant that there was little I
could do on the darker end of the spectrum, without fear of Corporate Executive
Wrath.
In addition, no matter what I did, there would already be a story attached to the
sprites, better than anything I could ever come up with. Not to mention the fact
that I'd probably screw up a lot of characters' personalities, if not ignore them
entirely.
2. I know what I'm getting into, this time.
When I first started sprite-comicing, I was fairly certain I could just throw
together one comic a day, and be done with it. Now, I understand just what an
investment of time a comic is. It took me almost two hours just to make the first
page, and that was a very simple one.
3. I planned this one, and I really like it.
Not much I can say about this, except that I made the effort to plan out some of the
story ahead of time, (not too much, I like to be spontaneous,) and I really like
where it's going.
4. I have a new computer.
One of my biggest problems last time, (and the time before that, and the time before
that,) was computer trouble. Now, with a new computer, Vista or not, things should
be easier.
5. I can work on it at school.
Now that I don't need sprite sheets, I can make my comics at school, should the need
ever arise.
There you have it. Five great reasons to read my new comic, and tear it to shreds. ^-^
