I invite you to read my webcomic Misery Depot. It's a mystery/science fiction webcomic released by Papyrus Comics, drawn by Juan Romera and written by Hermes Pique, intended for mature audiences.

Synopsis

An anomaly causes an elderly mother to awake undressed inside a humid capsule. The voice of her daughter echoes in her memory, the intent of her words forgotten. Was she sharing the completeness of their unity, or hatefully wishing her mother's demise?

A seemingly infinite corridor of capsules hosts hundreds of persons, calmly sleeping, miserable underneath. Yet, an old man shares the mother's awareness, and is even certain of the nature of the place: a high-technology concentration camp; the second one for him to escape...

You can start reading it at: http://www.drunkduck.com/Misery_Depot/

I hope you find it worth your while.

Thank you,

Hermes Pique.

Hey! I'm bumping this. You're clearly going somewhere with the story, and the coloring and lineart are both well-executed.

Unlike the vast majority of things I've read here, in this the characters are old and not beautiful. I think it's a good thing; it stands out. The page showing the degradation of the mother and daughter relationship with the changing of seasons is a lovely way to signify the passage of time AND the emotional state of the characters.

You mention your update schedule as though it's already plotted out and will run for a specific amount of time, so is it a short story?

Anyway - I'm going to be watching this. Although now that I read this thread, my speculation was quite wrong. :p

Going to favorite it and subscribe to the RSS.

That's a nice piece of work you have going on there.

Thank you for the kind words, Ochitsukanai. I'm quite fond of the second page, and hopefully it will be rewarding on a second reading.

Yes. It is a short story. While we don't plan to release anything that isn't already finished, in this particular case the webcomic was first made available outside of Drunk Duck. Depending on reader response, we might try something different with the next one.
