Well, I have been doing sprite comics forever. But I never really posted them to an actual public website. So I decided to gather ideas and come up with a comic! And I did. Heres the link:
http://www.drunkduck.com/Mario_and_Luigi_Invasion/index.php
And by the way, the update schedule is whenever I feel like it. The updates will mostly be on weekends, but I guarantee AT LEAST 2 updates every week. My goal is 3-4 updates every week. If I dont post enough, I will usually have a good reason for it. Thank you, and enjoy!
going away - Hey Everyone Look What I Did!

Im afraid that I have been a nuisance when it comes to panels, as you had to scroll down. I apologize, I guess I kind of went inthere without a plan. But the latest updates have "actual panels". Not ones where you scroll down. AND PLEASE! Give this comic a go. None comments and I feel like im doing this comic for none
-_-. Im not forcing you, however. Just check it out.

It's alright. Nothing that really makes it stand out from all the other sprite comics though.
That's "Dr. BlkKnight" to all of you.

I agree. It's a bit generic in jokes. Things happen a little too fast. The blur is used somewhat too much. Try to use it only when things are going really not to indicate that something's moving.
Other than that it's fine.

What Puff was saying with the jokes being generic, the jokes are...generic. It would not be difficult to find another comic that uses a similar joke (i.e. anything related to Internet speak). There's nothing outright wrong with using generic jokes, but as I said before it won't make you stand out of the crowd either.
That's "Dr. BlkKnight" to all of you.

Yep, you've a bit long winded getting to the point. And they aren't really "lol" jokes more like "oh I get it" jokes. If you want I can give you some ideas. I'm a Nintendo nut, there isn't much that I don't know. Want a couple of indepth gaming jokes to make a couple of funny fillers? I'm willing and able.

The comic itself is meant to be serious. Im making the jokes to hook the reader at the beginning. Basically, no more jokes after like, 50 pages.

Like I said before, I'm a Nintendo nut and I have read my fair share of gaming comics. Making a serious Mario comic is not going to work. You cannot make a comic that has recognizable characters in it and then not do jokes with them. I've got a comic with Jesus in it, so I make a lot of jokes about Christianity and other religions. You have a comic with Mario in it; you need to have enough knowledge about the Nintendo to interest the gamers that read the comic. Jokes work the best. If you're going to have a story line going that isn't related to Mario (apart from the backgrounds and the characters) then you need to an original comic with original characters and go from there. Or else you're just going to be another sprite comic in the sea of “Zoom the Hedgehogâ€s.

I'm not saying DEAD-SERIOUS. More of just more serious than it is. I agree, a DEAD-SERIOUS comic with Mario is hard to make, but like I said, there just wont be as much jokes. Of course, I will have jokes, but again, not as much.
Thats why I made a metroid comic anyways, for DEAD-SERIOUS-ACTIONY-GOODNESS :P.

YOu know what, you're not getting it, you're not going to get it. People put their comic up here so that they can get crit and change it for the better. You're just going to have sprite comic that will only be read by other people who make sprite comics. Go back and read the speach that Bleck made in your comic, say it out loud, go give it to may be an older (like 20somthing) friend and get them to read it. The dialogue sucks and none of the characters would talk like that. If something died infront of Luigi, he wouldn't fall on the ground laughing, he would cry, get Mario to hold him and say something about ghosts. Get out and read some good gaming comics, I can give you some links if you want, and see how they portray the characters in their games.

You just said that a serious comic would be hard to pull off. If something DID die infront of luigi, your right, he probably would do that. But honestly, that wouldnt be as funny as him cracking up. Im aiming for jokes here, incase you hadnt noticed. I realize that this is a CRIT thread, but make some sense in what your saying.
Ive read my fair share of comics, note, this is my first sprite comic. Ever. I have read lots of good comics. What comic has their characters act like they do in the game?
As for the dialogue, Ill see what I can do about it.
Sorry, I didnt meant to try and start an arguement, but please make sense.
Again, Ill see what I can do about the dialogue. The jokes, I improved them.

I must say, I appreciate you not going gung ho on me, as I know it must be very hard for you to read me criticizing your comic, and you are taking a lot of the suggestions to heart which some people would not do. With the dialog, try saying it out loud before you write it, that might help.
The point that Im trying to get across is that you are using recognizable characters that are expected to act a certain way. Like wise the environment and the world they are in have certain rules. At the moment you do not have a Mario and Luigi comic, you have a comic that uses the sprites of Mario and Luigi, but not the characters. I think your comic would work better with original characters, that way people don't have expectations about how they would act. Take for example Count Bleck, you know as well as I do there is no way he could become the villain again as in the end he realized his mistakes, sacrificed himself for the good of the world and then lived (or died) with Tippi happily ever after. Can you see how this doesn't fit with what we already know about the character? If I made a pokemon comic, I wouldn't make pikachu evolve into Jiggleypuff because people would go "what the hell?". Same thing here. Why not make two new Mario characters? Like two toads who want to emulate their heroes? That way the audience has no expectations about how they need to act.

I think I know what your getting to. Use the characters personality more? The dialogue is improved in the latest update. And the jokes, IMO, are hella funny. So thanks for helping me improve my comic guys!

Here's an example: Chuck Norris. He is the very definition of fag. And yet people use him in their comics. He's everywhere. Brainwashing people by the millions.
People are tired of Norris.

I had a quick look and your dialogue has improved. I found a Mario Wiki page a while ago and I found it useful in writing my comics, so I thought it might help you.
