I am inclined to agree with Tater on this one, although there are a good deal of good sprite comics out there (1 in every 50. This rant covers the other 49).

You spend five minutes making your own sprites/recolors. You then rip off the lamest story you can find (Pokeyman!, Megaman, and Sonic) or you mash them all together (MEGAPOKEYSONIC!11!!). The end result is that we see the same story OVER and OVER.

And you know what else pisses me off? When I see someone saying in thier comments that they DID NOT HAVE THE FIVE FUCKING MINUTES to make a comic in the past week! I could make at least 20 fucking sprite comics in the time it takes me to make EVEN one EMD! page. Yet they can not even keep a daily update schedule?!?!

Dont even give me that shit about writing either. You know what sort of script I have? NONE! NO FUCKING SCRIPT AT ALL! I improv all the lines after I draw the page. Cant they do that?!?! NOOOOO! It interferes with the crappiness!

Now, lets also look at the recolors. Why the fuck must we see a million megaman/sonic recolors? Are you that incapable of making your own sprites!?? I have made sprites in the past, and they are not THAT hard to make. Give me a few hours in photoshop and I can give you a fully functional animated sprite sheet. And it would be original too. As in, no megaman or sonic in it.

So you made your own sprites? Good, your at least a step above megaman/pokemon/mario/sonic sprite #0918708. But if you have the patience to constantly make new sprites for your comic, then WHY THE FUCK CANT YOU DRAW IT?!

And you even have the nerve to THINK you are in the same class as us REAL artists? Lets put EMD! up against generic pokemon comic #1080987. Which has more effort? Thats what I thought.

Now, I will admit, on occasion I will find a good sprite comic. They ARE out there. And some of them are VERY funny. Some even reach the same quality as handdrawn work as well. But for every one of those, we got 49 'Pokeyman Advenchurs' and 'Megaman and Buddees' and 'Bob teh hedgehog'.

What does this mean? Yes, you can make a good sprite comic. But it's hard to get attention when your comic looks just like 1 million others. You gotta push it to the limit and do something different. You're comic's safety is not guarenteed if you dont try originalty.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

The majority of sprite comics suck. The majority are all the same. Some are good. Some are great. But most suck. Draw your comic next time fuckers.

okay okay so most spriters don't have a good spriters, but the spriters that make their own sprites are usually artists all in all. Wich is why they have rather okay stories that arnt ripped off people. Look at kid radd.
