There should be an update today (the 17th). It's the first of 3 short flash movies I made as an Epilogue for the current storyline...

THINGS LOOK STRANGE HERE!

Anyway, incase I have no sig anymore, here's a link: PINKY TA

ERK! It looks like I can even edit my posts in this new setup...
Anyway, if you want to see the new Pinky TA movies early, you could always go to my main site.
It would be better to wait for the Drunk Duck versions, but if you can't here's a link to the main site: http://users.bigpond.net.au/ozoneocean/index.html [users.bigpond.net.au]

No offense Ozone, you are a better artist than me and all, but those flash movies aren't very hot.

The animation runs at an extremely low framerate, and the art (while good) is nowhere near your usual quality. And not only that, but the animation is quite choppy.

Topping all of this off is the slow pace and lack of music and voice acting. So it's kinda boring to watch.

Sorry Ozone, but I was expecting a lot more from an artist of your caliber.

Ah, you're a MASTER in Flash Sub. I've seen your work many a time :)
So what was your project eh?

I'm just a humble noob when it comes to Flash animation. ^_^

I heartily endorse this event or product.
Of course you will. All intelligent beings dream. Nobody knows why.

Also, tell random people they are awsome! it helps!

I really do hope you might like it Mimarin ^^

Wow Sub, that's amazing stuff. Very atmospheric work, nice and drak. You used a 3D program to do the initial animation? Great stuff!
The only reason I used Flash was to get a small file size. I really don't like it as a drawing program or an animation program, there's stuff out there that do those things WAY better, but nothing else I know that does both AND makes such small files.
I like your way though, creating most of the original content in something else first is a good idea. But wasn't it a lot of work to import the rendered artwork into flash and convert all the colours to vectors?

The only problem i got with the flash movies so far is the pacing.

The mood and artwork is really stylish and fun to watch, but you stay so long on each scene it becomes kinda boring. The camel for example just walked and walked, i almost figured the flash just repeated.

So speed the pace up a bit and you got some great stuff.

Thanks for the compliments and critisism VegaX.
I don't know if this makes up for the problems you noted, but the main reason I lingered on certain scenes was so as to make the 3 split-up clips a little longer. The whole thing was orriginally meant to be one short movie, but my idea was to split it up so the files size was easier and quicker for downloading, (it made editing and adding sound easier too).
I thought it'd be ok to increase some of the loops because they were basically just scenes going along with the music -Like the camel sequence for example. I actually wanted to make that longer!

I'll probably do a full version of the whole thing again sometime though (using the early work I did on it), that'll be shorter of course.

I think that would work just fine if you added something that makes it less of a loop. Like if you added a sun in the background that moved to the left, or some kind of scenary that changes.

( I also think it would be great if you could find a voice talent for the characters. )

It's not easy to make a camel walk (or any four leg animal walk) and yours looks convincing. It's that desert atmosphere what I like the most (that couldn't have been recreated without the long pauses). The thing I liked the less was the 1st car ride, I don't know if it were the jumps, the dust, but something wasn't right to me.
All in all, for someone like me who hasn't read your comic yet (although I've always liked your art), this is a great starter.

Thanks Locoma :)
I think one of the most anoying faults with that scene is the way the car drives off the screen and then the other one suddenly appears in its place. It just looks silly. Plus, I made it drive backwards and forwards one too many times. Lastly, the field of view is completely wrong: The horizon should be in the same place relative to the car when the car is in the distant view as when its in the close view. That's the biggest error... In the distant view the horizon is too high. (from memory anyway)

Well spotted man!

OK! Pinky TA is actually updating! I have the cover of part 6 up today. And there will be the first page of part six up tomorrow. YES, it hasn't finished yet.

Part 6 is a story from Pinky's early days. There's more deserts, there are tanks, and there will be swearing!
It's all based on a short story I wrote.

By "today" I mean the 31st of October... It's already the 31st here so I get confused.
