A majority of Pokemon comics around the Duck are sprite comics, right? National Dex is one of the few that is actually drawn by hand, and it's not done in a traditional anime/manga style, but more of a hybrid between Western and Eastern art.

It tells a different kind of story as well. The trainer in this comic doesn't really play a big role at all; it's mostly about the Pokemon. Each one has his/her own personality as well as a background story to tell. Personal performance becomes an issue among the team as an old rival is brought back into their ranks. They'll compete against one another as they struggle to secure a slot on the roster.

The second chapter has only begun, so it's not too late to get caught up! :)
