Danyell LaVey is a teenage boy. He is also pop music idol. He is also, secretly, a vampire who is hiding from the rest of the underworld, pretending to be human. He's actually been pretty successful until now, living his pseudo-normal, nearly-perfect life, until the most feared hunter of the vampire world - that is, a sexy vampire himself - shows up at one of his concerts to crash his party and invite him to his first romance...or to his death.

In the mean time, a second man shows up - one who might know the secret behind Danyell's older brother's death. How is his brother connected with the vampire world? And furthermore, why is Danyell so special to the vampiric high society? What does it mean to be the Maverick Heart? Will Danyell find love for the first time?
