I dont know anything about facebook, but I think using social networking sites to promote your comic is a great idea.

I briefly used Facebook to post my comics, but I took all the pages off as soon as I found out that the contract-type-thing they make you agree to essentially states that any images you post on there becomes theirs to use however they want without your permission.

Then again, I'm very protective of anything I draw.

If you're sure you want to go through with using FaceBook, be careful. The poor man's copyright, however, comprises of having two hard copies of the work. You mail one to yourself (signed and dated) and don't open the enveloped; you sign and date the other copy and send it to a friend out of state/province/country, and make sure they don't open their envelope, either.
