you drew your own conclusion about my being pretentious. By that state of mind, it's fair to say you're overally exaggerant. thxbyeomgbqq.

I honestly don't see this as pretentious. It's just a person saying they're willing to do business with anyone who wishes to own a piece of their work. Artists of varying degrees open themselves up for commissions all the time. Whether or not people actually comission them is a completely different matter.
Good luck with it Fallacy.

Im ok with the idea of paying for artwork, if its somewhat cheap. Would be cool with some other artist drawing alternate covers etc..
But the manga style you use, although goodlooking, isnt very rare so it doesnt come of as interesting or worth paying for in my eyes.
Great artwork, but it needs to be in users "subcultured" or "oceanocean" quality and originality for me to consider paying.

The only thing I can tell you is that your thread is smack-dab in the middle of a web-comic host. Your audience is already the biggest bunch of cheapskates around. I should know, I'm one of 'em. :P
Good luck, though. They are nice sketches. 8)

oh, while I'm here, CHECK OUT MY SIG!

This seems awfully pretentious as I'm sure there are better artists on DD who would do great artwork for free. Also possibly non-anime.
No great artist does artwork for free. they dont deserve it. We must pay these artist what they are all worth.

In actual fact, most pro artists at cons do sketches for free.
The art here looks reletivly middle-schoolish, generic anime style. In many ways, as another aspiring cartoonist, I do find the original post pretentious because it doesn't look like this person is significantly trained to actually pay money for a comission. I'm not saying the art is bad, I'm just saying money shouldn't be payed for a single drawing from this person at the moment.
After a great deal of practice however people will be ASKING for comissioned drawings.
