Hi, I'm new to this DD thing! My letterer who also works on 'The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo' mentioned this site to me and although I host 'you'll never die...' on my own website http://www.takisoma.com or http://www.youllneverdie.com , I wanted to host it here also to hopefully gain more audience I didn't have before.
I am thoroughly impressed with this site so far, and I hope to share my comic and read other's comics here as well.
here's the link to the one hosted on DD: http://www.drunkduck.com/youll_never_die/
here's a short description of the webcomic:
Eden Valley hunts after 3 murderers who took her boyfriend's life to find his body and to unravel the mystery as to why he was targeted.
Thanks for checking it out :D
going away - Hey Everyone Look What I Did!
[PLUG/CRIT] you'll never die...

Let me start by saying the art in this comic is simply fantastic. It's very much like one of those noir comics you read, however this is much more interesting because this is more female-centered, as opposed to being male-centered with other noir comics.
Great job.
Great job.

Ooh, this is interesting and different. It looks very polished, and it's a great concept.
You asked for crit on the title, and haven't received any yet, so I guess I'll say something I've noticed throughout, which is probably the only thing I can think of that could do with a bit of improvement.
The anatomy. It seems like the faces and hands are drawn in a realistic, highly detailed and quite rugged way, but the bodies are drawn in a very simple, almost cartoonish or manga way, very skinny and the muscles and body structure are not clearly defined. Necks, shoulders and arms in particular seem to be the problem area. You seem to be drawing the neck just a little too thin for the head, which makes the head appear a little too large for the body. The shoulders lack some definition, at the moment, they fall straight down from the neck quite straight, which looks more credible on the female characters, but particularly for the male characters you should have a look at where the shoulder muscles and collar bones should be. The arms have a tendency toward being skinny and tubular, without definition, and just a little too long in some panels, particularly when they're bent. The manga look of the bodies doesn't quite blend well with the realistic faces, and makes the heads appear a bit too big, or out of place.
That sounds like a lot of criticism, but honestly, that's the only thing I could really find to criticise here. I think your comic is excellent, and it's really great to see a female artist working in a style and genre that's usually so male-dominated.

The anatomy looked generally ok to me and the way Taki draws bodies didn't really stand out against how she draws faces. It does approach more cartoonish styles - but I just like it that way. However, I have to agree that sometimes the arms look unnatural - not so much in general as in the case of Eden. Especialy in the episode "Think again" - and then in "The Pain of Love", where in the last panel either the arm is too thin or the hand too big, and ends up looking like Mickey Mouse's hand ;) But other than that, I think Taki's done an AMAZING job.
Sometimes I had the impression that Eden looked too cute, and sometimes too evil. In "Retaliation", in the big panel when the three notice Louis is gone, she looks almost as if she were part of the gang, or even their bos - standing straight with a bad-ass face. She should look stupefied, not to mention terrified - even considering the sudden change in her. And then, in some part, she should look more "wasted" after so much drinking.
Overall a GREAT job, Taki. The artworks are impressive - and You seem comfortable with various styles. I especially liked the flashback in full color - I liked it how it set a completely different mood for a minute. So when the comic went back to black & white on the next page, it was all the more impressive. The story's great. Can't wait to read more!

again, a great crit, thank you very much! I see exactly what you're saying and I agree.
I will keep these in mind; hopefully, I will just keep learning and getting better.
Thanks again!

You have a great talent! Your work would look stunning in black and white ink, and I only say that because it would make it crisper.
Great details, great layouts, and great design ^.^

Hey that's a really fantastic way of drawing things. Reminds me of all those old comics my uncle owns. It's nice to see something like this up on DD. I think the two-tone is very well done and suits the art, so don't go back to BW just yet. Your detail is excellent and the anatomy is getting on well. I think any problems have already been pointed out by other people-- the arms and stuff. Actually I think they look quite good already.
Keep up the awesome work! I hope I can get as good as that with practice. :)
