I've been putting it off for a while. But I finally decided to do it.

I'd like for somebody (a few people would be nice) to critique my comic. I know there's actually quite a few flaws. But it gives me somethin to work towards. My anatomy is absolutely terrible, but it's getting better.

Alright everybody, let's critique it! :D

One thing I have to say is that you have a rather original style and I applaud you for that. I also how well you placed the text and cleaned it up. Not everybody really cares for text look and placement. Good job. :)

Although...most of the time when I was reading this, I couldn't quite tell what was going on. Everything seems very squished together and messy. Especially the characters, I couldn't quite tell what was happening most of the time with them as they all looked the exact same. I'm most definitely not saying you should change your style, but I would think to open it up some. Like, try changing around the face shapes and eyes and noses, etc...Even the shape, height, etc. of the body really can help give variety to the characters.

Another thing is the foreground and background. The characters seem to blend right into the background which makes it a little difficult to tell what is happening. Maybe try drawing out the background with thinner lines, or shade it some more to give the contrast between background and foreground, otherwise it's just a bunch of confusing, thick lines with text coming out of it.

All in all, your comic looks like it shows some promise. Keep it up! ;)

Thank you so much for the crit! It's very much appreciated!

Yeah, I need to make height differences, and clean up the faces a bit, I realize that's kinda...messed up.

Hopefully when I get this Pentel Pocket Brush Pen I'm ordering, we won't have a problem with the backgrounds.
But I'll definitely take what you said into mind! Thanks again!

I also really like the unique style of the comic, but i have to agree, its difficult to tell the characters appart, it may be solved by adding colour, however you could experiment a bit with different hairstyles, eye shapes that kind of thing to make them look more individual.

Good comic, keep up the work!

Thank you! I might differentiate them when it comes to Chapter 2, since they'll be changing somewhat...;)

I actually DID do something with the eye shapes before, but that's part of the story. But who knows.

Thank you again! :D

It's good to know you take critisism so well, I really think your comic has potential! I am starting to pick out the little differences between the two characters

:)
Thank you once again! Hahaha.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to see from the beginning, but it goes a little something like this,

Archound - Big and strong, wears the eyepatch.
Draycho - kinda medium sized, he's the one with the goggles
Ryu - normal sized, he's the one without any special things on him.

Oh, and do you think some greyscale shading would make it easier to see backgrounds, and or make it look better?
Because I'm starting to do that for Page 1, and it looks great so far, it's just taking forever, because I'm trying to do this with a mouse xD

Firstly, invest in a tablet if you dont have one, it makes everything so much easier and is worth the money and yes even some simple grey scale will help alot, have a look for some tutorials so you can get some neat little tips and it'll go along way, but are you sure you dont wanna use colour? allthough it is looking nice in just black and white but the greyscale would help with the backgrounds.
PS check your inbox! i left you a message!

I had a tablet before, but it was super cheap. I think I'll invest in a wacom as soon as I get the money.

And I'm almost finished with this page, it's taken a while, but it looks a lot better in my opinion! So over the next few days I'll do this. I think I'll have to find a way easier way to do this though.

I would use color, but I honestly don't think it'd fit with the comic's style. I was goin for a black and white kinda thing.

Oh, okay! :D

Edit: Finished with the page! Here it is!
Tell me what you think!

Tis a shame that there is no punctuation for that font, it may cause problems later, but oh well! I like the grayscale but it would look a bit better if the lines were straighter, but i understand your doing most of this by hand i believe? but definite improvement i think, adds alot more depth, also have a go at doing more detail in the backgrounds, allthough you have lots of close ups unlike me so its not totally necassary, when you get the time try not to bog yourself down with trying to change too much at once if there are certain things you want to change.

If you still didnt get the PQ, i was wondering if you could critique my comic in return, figured we would have an exchange of ideas

Yeah, I may have to change it, and re-do all of it. I'd just need to find another font that fits well. I'm a real stickler for grammar, so it kills me a little inside.

I did that all by mouse! It took forever, but I think it came out better. I need to invest in a tablet so I can change that.

I think it looks better to!
Oh, I can handle it, I have until next Wednesday off, and I never have anything to do. Plus, I LOVE working on the comic. It'll just take forever. I'll start tomorrow, and probably end up finishing it all on Sunday.

Just read through some of your stuff and wanted to give a quick crit.

You've got a very interesting character and story and i can see it hooking readers, but the art style is a bit hard to make out. I think it could use some color or cleaning up, otherwise its a fun comic and I think this character has a lot of potential. Makes you interested as to how hes gonna react to things. Keep it up!

Thanks OrchardHeroes! Yeah, I'm in the process of shading the pages with copic markers. They're only grey markers, but so far, it's looking great!

Thanks for checking out the comic! Truly appreciated!

Ryu's Krew updates today with the 13th page.
The toning will (hopefully) be done by Saturday, and I'll have it up by then too, I'm hoping.

a set of grey copic sketch markers would be good for shading, definetley give it more depth

Ryu's Krew updates today, and today is the first day of shaded pages. I'll hopefully have the archive done by like, tomorrow. But today's and Thursday's pages will be up and running.

And yes, the official update schedule is Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Ryu's Krew updates today!

I did finish getting all of Chapter 1 shaded, AND uploaded. That was on Saturday I uploaded them.

There's a minor problem with today's page, because my marker overfilled. So yeah. Besides that, I think it came out pretty well.
