i wanted to comment on your comic to tell you your art is fantastic, but i think there is a problem with your comment box. it wouldn't let me type anything :(
so anyways... i'm writing it here! i faved you because i think this comic sounds really interesting. the lotus is such an inspirational flower. there are many analogies revolving around it.
my favorite is, "no shit, no lotus" although i forget where i heard that from. haha. this is commenting on the lotus' ability to rise up from the mucky dirt and become a pristine beautiful flower, untouched by the filth below. this is often used to describe the buddha nature within each of us, that is, the ability to rise above this filth; pristine and untouched. i wonder if these concepts will be integrated into your comic too...
i'll be reading this one...

captainclover,
Thanks for giving Lotus Root Children love! I am sorry my comment box was such a bitch. Not sure what happened.
I really like the analogy that you mentioned for lotus. I haven't heard of it so I didn't write the comic with that analogy in mind. However, I think the comic can be read that way now that I think about it.

Wow... Your artwork is absolutely gorgeous!! It looks like an ink wash!! And I like the hint of the under sketch being seen, too!

Your artwork is beautiful. It reminds me a bit of "Blankets." Beautiful story, as well. ^-^
