I don't know where my old thread is, so I've decided to start up this new one. After a slight hiatus, due in part to getting an artist and also because of the technical struggles of DD moving to a new server, I'm proud to present the new and improved Heroes by Hand: Paper Heroes! I've decided on a title change because of the new direction. Paper Heroes was the original title of the strip but that name was already taken on DD, so I opted for Heroes by Hand. Now that they aren't completely done by hand and don't look totally ridiculous, the title seemed like somewhat of a misnomer so I've decided to alter it. It can still be reached at its usual place at:

It's Monday. Know what that means? If you guessed 'new page', then congratulations, you win...I don't know. Something really sweet. Treat yourself to something nice.

Today's page has a new baddie AND a new family member AND a never before seen team-up between Shape and Pirate AAAAAND a new origin. That's four whole things. When was the last time you read a comic where four new things were introduced in a single page? Never, that's when. So change your life and go read the new Heroes by Hand page!

I really like the look of this comic. So, not sure if your the artist here, but I take it whoever inks it, definitely is traditional, right? Not on the computer?

Anyway, the newest page got me to laugh. And the guy with the helmet strangely reminds me of Buzz Lightyear, from Toy Story.

I am indeed not the artist. Unless you count the first 5 or so pages, but calling that "art" is a kick to the crotch of people who actually can draw, so we don't go throwing around terms like that carelessly.

I'm pretty sure the inking is not done on computer, but it wouldn't be fair for me to assume things. If you want a definite answer you should definitely get in touch with JP. You can use his DeviantArt page (link above), comment in the comic (which I can't guarantee he'll check), or send him a PQ here on DrunkDuck. His handle is norritt.

Hey I'm really liking the new style! We're both involved in webcomics with superheroes so it was fun for me to see your take on things. Very refreshing! You've got some fun characters with lots of potential, great work.

Thanks Orchard! I checked out your comic, and it's very cool. Very creative.

Take a trip with me, if you will, to the 1940s. In order to let children relate to older superheroes, the fabled Sidekick was introduced in the form of the one and only Robin. Many a Teen Titan and New Mutant later, teen heroes have become the 'cool' thing to do (or something).

We're breaking new ground here, too. This week's page features Graffiti, a young punk girl who can spraypaint stuff. Bet you didn't see that coming. This move will undoubtedly draw in new readers in the form of a) children and b) girls, two of the most mythical readers of comics ever
