FAIL: Behind every great event is a conspiracy theory waiting to be told.

As one of my local colleagues would say, "I MADE A THING! I MADE A THING!" I recently graduated from college, and this project is the first one I've had a chance to sit down and enjoy working on. At it's heart, FAIL (Fascists for American Integrity and Leadership) is somewhere between political satire and action/adventure- it tells the hidden stories of absurdist conspiracy theories behind events more or less taken from real headlines. The first book was inspired by all the hype around Wikileaks and Julian Assange.

I uploaded the first half of chapter two today.

Resemblances to real persons or events is intended as satire and parody, and is generally done with the greatest affection. I plan on updating FAIL weekly (the last chapter of this book should be up in about a month, and I have some fun filler planned after that until I'm able to make a short story or two).

An example of an absurd conspiracy theory?

Lessee. I've been trying to think of a good example that doesn't come from the comic, since I plan on eventually using most of 'em on a long enough of a timeline. One example that's mentioned in passing in chapter two of this story is that the world leaders are genetically engineered by FAIL to ensure control (having recognized Bush was a nearly perfect tool, they cloned him and added genetic material from Hitler and Stalin, creating Obama). The contents don't necessarily match my own opinion in any direct way- in that example, I'm just rifting off the pop-culture image of Obama=Bush with a little bit of satire of the birthers (the reason they can't provide the birth certificate is he was a clone).

Every once and awhile, my actual opinion sneaks into the story- but most of it is a soup of memes taken to absurdist levels.
