Hiya folks, Wingnut here, Illustrator and Co-Author of the comic
Acquired taste. I became a part of the Drunk Duck community about a month ago,
and I figured it was time for a critique.

The coloring is very bold. That is probably the very first thing I noticed when I first saw the comic. Granted, the earlier pages don't look AS good as the newer ones, but such a dramatic improvement over such a short period of time is a good thing.

The art style is also very distinct too. It vaguely resembles the old AS show 'Home Movies', except with quality art.

The writing is usually spot-on too, with only an occasional slip up where the joke doesn't work.

Wow, thanks a ton!

Yeah, it's kind of fun being able to track the learning of new skills during the course of the comic, and I'm glad you dig the coloring, I wanted something bold, something that screamed "Hey! Look at me! I'm not a sprite comic!"

I think I accomplished that.

Thank you so much for the critique, it is really encouraging.

I don't know if this is going to sound right but it also seems to have a very "wooden texture" to it that seems to set it apart from most other comics. I like it alot the only issue I have it gradient backgrounds. I'd say add a bit more backgrounds substance just so the focus isn't so directly on the bold colors and falls more on the actualy story and characters.

Thats good thinkin'.

I haven't tried much with backgrounds, but I'm working on a contributing comic to Telenarius, so I better learn soon eh?

Look out for that, it will be a little different from what you've seen so far.

But yes, backgrounds, I can do that. Thanks a ton for the critique, this is really helpfull.

This comic is hilarious. I loved the Demon Couch one, the ORLY one, and the demon slaying thing. The only thing I would say to do is to flesh out the characters a bit more, especially the brown haired guy.

That's all.
