lol actually I think that would really make my day.

and I don't care about the pairing.. as long as they didn't like pair up Camilla with her father kiasun or something like that. Incest and beastualsexuality's a no-no in my book.

but otherwise.. go wild on the pairing! I don't even mind the yaoi pairings lol
Heck, I don't even care if one of my fans were to make a fan fiction about Camilla and the Queen of Darkness getting it on... I'd just laugh.

seeing somebody cosplay my characters would be cool too..
I'm on hitatus while I redo one of my webcomics. Be sure to check it out when I'n done! :)

If the artwork doesn't impress my cat, than it is crap...no matter what the fans say.
(and she doesn't get impressed too often.)
Dude...let me borrow your Spell Checker program.

Lol, I don't think it would really bother me. It's always interesting to see what other people think of my characters, even if they're.. different from what I had intended. =p Cosplaying I would actually love to see since I'm too clumsy to actually make any of the outfits I design myself.

I actually consider horrible fanfic to be the mark of true success, it means someone likes your stuff enough to ruin it. Yaoi kinda falls into that category too.
I'm a cosplayer myself and so are a lot of my friends so I've never considered them the slightest bit creepy.

She is basically asking this: If your comic got really popular (like live action movie, best selling comic, The Simpsons/Family Guy-esque popularity.) The fandom (crazed fans of the comic) you get, would it creep you out?

I don't mind either way. If I'm proud of my work, I'm pleased.

I agree with the above post. I wouldn't mind and I'm very proud of my comic, my story and the bloody hell it and I have had to go through to get it just this far. Though I'm not quite used to people launching themselves over the tables at cons yet but they might make pills for that. XD

I would draw sketches for all of them.

It would be a bit creepy, but there are creepy people wherever you go. And if they get too creepy... restraining order!

I would be more sad that people would be doing fan art or stories that are just really terrible. I'd like other people to draw my stuff, but I'd want it to look good darn it. T_T Otherwise it is no fun.

well parody is a kind of appreaciation

Kurt Cobain said he knew Nirvana had made it when Wierd Al did his parody of teen spirit. And if someone actually spent the time to make a horribly disturbing fanfic, it means that your work has managed to affect them strongly enough to do it

I agree with junoblairb and Aurora Moon. I wouldn't mind either. But I have to say I do enjoy having a small fanbase like I do now because it's easier to keep in-touch with your fans.
I bet it's hard to keep track when you have over 1,000 fans. ^_^ But I have to say that I really wouldn't mind if the fan-base grew. I'd still try my best to respond to all the e-mail I got from my fans as I do now.

I would LOVE for someone to one day recognize me for my comic. It would be the ultimate act of flattery to gain the recognition to be parodied as well, but not as good as a spin-off.

If someone is willing to waste a few moments of their life on something i created, i would be overjoyed. Pairings would be cool too since i know how they are supposed to be. Also, cosplay would be the ultimate praise. It's like someone saying " I like your stuff so much that i actually want to be in it." It would be awesome!!!

I was actually having this discussion with a friend of mine last night. He was talking about how creators can become "trapped" because their work becomes popular. For example, what if Adam Hughes stopped drawing women? His art is fantastic, but he's really known for his "girlie" art. If he got sick of that one day, people would still expect to see the ladies in his work.
Or say, Alex Ross. He's got this style that has become mega popular...so...can he change and do something else?

This gets even harder once you're actually making your living at it, because "bills wait for no man."

At any rate, it seems the more popular your creation is, the less control you have over changing it (and you!).

It would actually be cool to have a large fan base I think. The group of people who gather and analyze every single page of your story. The cosplayers would be cool and the shippers would be entertaining. I'm a big fan of Avatar:The Last Airbender and that show has a huge group of shippers that are just fun to listen to. Also the more feedback you get the easier it is to improve your writing and your art.

On that same note though it could get creepy if they became too obsessive. There are the fans who become so obssesed with the characters in a story they start thinking of them as actual people. Sir Arthur Canon Doyle (the creator of Sherlock Holmes) tried to kill Sherlock Holmes off and got death threats in the mail until he brought him back. That would be genuinly scary. Stephen King got a lot of threating letters every year between volumes of his Dark Tower series (so I hear). That would be scary.

I personally would enjoy seeing Mary Sue OC characters in fanfiction based on my work. "My character is Krissy Reiko Lune-Ellis, and she's a half-angel changeling with a magic count of 300 and wings and two magical katanas and hair that's half white and half green with red streaks and purple eyes and she's a paladin and a dark knight and she's Juliet's long-lost half sister!"
...Ohhhh yeah, that would be horrifically hillarious.
Judging from what I actually get in comments and fanart though, there would be a lot of out-of-character Rekki and a whole lot of lesbian pairings of the female characters. If a cartoon was made, I like to hope it'd be made by a really fringey british animation group. The thought of my characters getting all watered down and/or Americanised makes me cringe. Even worse, if it was like the animated Redwall they made where everybody had REALLY awful fake English accents! *shudders* ...you know, maybe they'd be better off NOT making a series of FanDanGo...I doubt anybody would watch it anyway, hahahaha.

haha I have a few joke homosexual pairings of my characters myself, but I would never tell anyone who they are or make them a reality. Fandom is fun. I'd enjoy it, but sometimes I feel a little sad at how much fans seem to go all over one character(PEPE!!!) and not like the rest. Personally I'd wouldn't want an animation of my stuff.

Well, yaoi pairings wouldn't be much of an issue in my comics... xD
But, I think it would be flattering, to have all that fan attention for it. I think I would find the fan fics and the like amusing, and just to be recognized for my story would be wonderful. Hopefully someday I'll get to the point where I see cosplayers of me comics! Lawl. xDD
