Your thoughts on inflation/weightgain/pregnancy fetish art and comics

What is inflation/weightgain/pregnancy fetish art?
Some words against it.
This type of art is really popular at Deviant Art. They have their own little community there. DA people either really hate it or love it.
What does it have to do with DD?
Now I'm starting to see a little bit of the tread make it's way here with the popularity of Craving Control .
So what do you think of it? A good thing? Bad thing?
Is it all just a harmless fetish thing?

it's the same as skiny women art, it doesn't really make much of a difference to me.
i don't like labeling art, because it will only paint you in a corner because you don't wanna draw a certain style or influence

I don't feel like Craving Control really fits that catagory. I think it's popular because it's really well written and well drawn, the huge boobs are just the icing on the cake.

I agree with the last two people who posted...
How do you know it's an fetish for the artists who draw ridiclously fat people? That's like saying that all furry artists gets aroused at the thought of furries. They don't. For example, most of them end up being furry artists thanks to Sonic and other games/cartoons that got antromorphic animals... and they find that they have more fun drawing furries than regular humans.
The artists could be just having fun and basically rebelling against all the super skinny girls/boys in art...even though they might go overboard on the fatness. But it could be one way to make people aware of how that whole "thin" image is competely dominating society's view of "beauty".
The only way it would be fetish art was if it was blantily obivous that the characters decited was supposed to be sexual-looking. By that, I mean things like the women with thier legs open in an lewd postion, as if intiving somebody not in the picture to come and screw them senseless.

Dammit, why can't people make threads talking about MY comic? I could use the free publicity.
Anyway, I've read CC. It's not a pregnancy fetish comic, and never will be- I actually talked about this with the writer. Lalia's episodes of girth are really just plot devices to show how much Lalia has been eating. Ever noticed that she's skinny the strip after she's fat?

People just can't seem to understand that. A lot of people think it's a weight-gain comic, but it's not. The Author even said, "She's not fat, just full with cartoon perspectives." (Or something like that)

Mah. Poeple like what they like. Some fat some thin.
What gets me here is the idea is that some how useing fat poeple in a sexly role is seen as wong and the way that the word fetish is know seen as a bad thing? a fetish is a perfrents not a perverson. Hell the word petty much means lucky charm.
What wong with poeple having a pertical like and showing it in there work? Its like having a go at some-one for likeing blonds other burnet or vas-via.

Seriously, stay the fuck away from deviant art. Its filled with wasted talent. And by wasted, I mean pandering to fetishists or their own wierd fetishes. Liking fat chicks is one thing, but drawing every character from everything fat, thats madness!

It's just another way of objectifying people for sexual gratification/fantasy. I personally don't like it... I mean, chubby people, I don't mind - most people are chubby and often they're much more attractive that way. But having their weight-gain get to a point where the character is rendered virtually invalid or them being inflated to grotesque proportions - I really can't understand how people can enjoy it or find it titillating. It's like sadistic mutilation when it gets to that point. If people act out these fantasies the weight gainer's health, wellbeing and possibly their life could be put into danger... I know this is true of some other fetishes (like asphyxiation, bondage, whatever) but the fact that it's so gradual and hard to reverse... you can take a mask off someone and untie the ropes but once someone is 600 pounds and bedridden it's very difficult for them to go back to the way they were.
Basically, if it stays as artwork or as a fantasy, fair dos. I can turn a blind eye to it. I don't like it but I won't condemn it either. I'm sure there's a lot of people who puke at the sight of my prettyboy shonen-ai artwork... But when it goes into a real-life setting I'll put my foot down... It's just the same as objectifying any other type of person for your own gratification. If all you want off someone is to see them gain weight then there's something wrong. You should like people for who they are, whatever shape they come in, and never ever try to make them fit into your mould of what a physically perfect partner should be - be it fat, thin, big breasted, whatever. No one should have to suffer against their better judgement for someone else's desires.

I'll be honest, inflation art disturbs me. By "inflation art", I don't mean art featuring overweight people, I don't particularly care about that. Liking obsese people is the same as liking skinny people, it's just a harmless personal preference and I don't see anything wrong with either.
By inflation art, I mean the type where women (and, rarely, men) are actually shown being inflated. Usually with some number of hoses stuck into various parts of their bodies, often they're shown being force-fed food and really not looking all that happy about it. It's disturbing and seems more like some type of bizarre torture fetish to me, and it creeps me out. To each their own and all that, but I really don't want to see it, and it's plastered all over DeviantART - yet other things (shounen-ai included) are often ripped down with no explanation by the moderators. :/

If you guys don't like inflation art, I don't want to tell you how much pornography exists of your childhood cartoons. Imagine porky pig raping elmer fudd, because someone else has and has drawn it. Someone who can draw really well probably has drawn it.
also should I explain shitting dick nipples, tentical rape, or some of the worse stuff? Truely some sick shit exists on the internet.

Nawww, I think it's an ART topic! :)
No, this is a comics discussion! Cool! ^_^

Lets talk more about fat art then... I've seen some bizarre stuff. But it's all good. Everyone's into something.

I have a friend who was a gallery admin for DeviantART, Mangapunksai, and she'd have to deal with this every day. I showed her Craving Control, and she pointed out that it's a prime example of an inflation fetish. She was the one who did that comic Jillyfoo posted in this thread actually. Haha.
So yeah, Craving Control's popularity is a bit disturbing to say the least.

Well, I guess I just put up with it. I mean, personally I really, really dislike yaoi. I hate when stupid teen girls make characters gay for no logical reason other than they're the two most attractive characters and then stick them together.
I've come to the decision that, okay, just...let them do whatever they like. So long as I don't have to see it, I don't really care if people are into effeminate boys making out, people with fat bodies and inexplicably thin faces making out, pregnant men making out... It's nothing new, it's just that the internet allows people with interests in common to find each other easily, and if they desire, anonymously.

Like all "fetish" comics, they are amusing to laugh and shake your head at until they get too many and become tricky to avoid.
I've been aware of the "two men that looks like women that are gay" genre for some time but this is the first time I've heard of "inflation" art and comics. So some people actually think it's hot to watch girls gain weight and stuff their face with food? Amazing...
Personally i think the popularity of "craving control" isn't because of the food stuffing, but because the author shoves big boobs in the readers face every second panel, but that might just be my opinion. :/

I don't really think CC is an inflation comic. I think inflation fans might like it, but I don't think that was the intention behind it.
I feel really bad for CCs author because all he did was make a cute comic about a girl who's got an eating problem and it got popular. He didn't force it to number one, it just got there. It's not his fault people like it. back off.
That said, my views on inflation art are the same as my views on people who draw women with the biggest boobs and tiniest waists ever. It's all objectifying woman, but because it's pen and paper, it can't hurt.
I seem to know a lot of people mentioned and commenting on this thread. ^^;;
Kat (DarthMongoose) makes her point too with the yaoi. She and I have discussed this before. I like yaoi. I'm what you might call a yaoi fangirl. But I don't whore non-canon couplings. And sorry to disappoint some of the fangirls out there but PA (I reiterate) is NOT shounen-ai.
We had a girl on HC who posted a thread reviewing the anime HunterXHunter and said, actually SAID, the genre was "yaoi." I have since seen 30+ episodes of the anime, and the show is NOT yaoi. It's a Shonen Jump series. If you don't know what that is, it's liek Naruto or Bleach. It's made with boys as a target audience. Not. Yaoi.
I pointed this out and she got upset and said that was her opinion. Which it wasn't. If I say, in my opinion, Hilary Duff's music is R&B that doesn't change the fact that it's pop. This was a case of someone trying to force their fetish on someone else.
However, everyone is entitled to their fetish.
And yes, for those of you who are like "is it really a fetish" a fetish is defined as an object, a body part, or a state of a person that makes a person feel sexually aroused. That is the point of inflation art. It's something that people who like it can jack off to. It's a fetish.
I've seen the run of fetishes too. Some are interesting, some are disturbing, some are understandable.
Everyone's entitled to one. I myself, am a bondage fetishist. >.>; That doesn't really mean I wanna tie my girlfriend up every night and have my way with her against her will. (has as if it's against her will. X3) But the idea of someone being restrained during sex is appealing to me.
I sometimes draw my characters tied up for no reason, or bound in some way.
Some people find that disturbing.
I'm entitled to do it and they can't stop me.
HOWEVER, it is common courtesy not to shove it under someone's nose. Or expect someone to feel the same way about it you do. Or get mad when someone bashes it. You're gonna put your fetish so far out that everyone can see it? Expect some criticism. Grow a thicker skin or find a place where only you and the other participants of your fetish will see that stuff.
That's why I like y-gallery. Everyone can post their yaoi who likes it and no one else ever needs to see it.
Sorry if this makes no sense, I should probably go to sleep. X.x

I totally agree. In my comic, my characters end up as captured/hostages/bound fairly frequently. But that does not mean that it is about or catering to "bondage fetish." Sheesh. Any "theme" could easily be called a "fetish" if taken out of context or twisted to some sexual slant (whether by the creator or reader). Looney toons is not some sick furry sex fest unless some pervert twists it that way...

I admit I have drawn inflation art on my comic before: http://www.drunkduck.com/Short_Story_Comics/pages/94c9c28ceb26e0601256f1fc0d53fdf4.jpg
Truth is, just because I have drawn inflation art doesn't mean I like inflation art. I drew it because I like to poke fun at a character and partly having amused by the silly things I drew. But if I were to overdo inflation art for every page of my comic, then that's considered a disturbing fetish.

Ewww Eunice, that's gross! >_< lol!
If we're talking about stuff we like drawing; well shaped girl's bottoms seems to be a default setting for me. -I'd link to some pics, but pretty much 70% of my comic pages seem to have a pic of one somewhere... It's not that I plan the art or story that way, it just seems to come up naturally in my comic for some reason again and again and again...
