If your characters read comics what kind of comics would they read?

What kind of webcomics would they read? (Come on. Plug some comics other than your own.)

Well, none of them would read novels. That's a given.

Ryu would probably interested in comic books/manga that deal with ninjas, things with Samurais. Ryu would definitely read Kung Fu Komix and probably Naruto. Rurouni Kenshin, and even Samurai Champloo, Usagi Yojimbo. And from time to time, he'd like to read a nice Spider-Man, or X-Men.

Draycho...well...he's into more punk style things. He would want to read the manga Bleach, and Despotize . Uh, Air Gear too. Can't really think of any comic books he would actually read. Probably Snoopy.

Archound, well, he would be more into the gothic kinda stuff. Anything with zombies, he'd love. So he'd read The Walking Dead, probably Death Note, and Guts .

My characters are more into novels and non-fiction. In fact several times in my comic, the characters can be seen reading -- which isn't surprising since it's set in a bookstore. I guess if they read webcomics/comics, they'd be into the same genres they like in other literature.

Yuki would probably get into romances (most likely straight and non-manga, since she loves big strong men ;) ) as well as any comic starring adorable animals that is super cute all the time without any major conflict or tension. She has a short attention span, so more likely strips than stories (things like Garfield and Marmaduke most likely). For webcomics, I honestly couldn't say, because those are the kinds of comics I don't get into myself.

Seiko is usually reading classic mystery novels and likes to think about deeper themes, so she'd enjoy comics with some mystery that explore character dynamics. I'm sure she'd like the Case Closed manga. Given the deep characters and tension, she'd probably get into Shades . I think she'd like Cricket's Creature because the characters are all dynamic and there's a few mysteries going on (like a mysterious traitor).

Kaida tends toward reading nonfiction. She likes historical stuff, mythology, and also is interested in weaponry. I think she'd get into Lupin III. She'd probably get a kick out of most action comics too, especially ones with strong women, sexy 'bad boys,' and lots of guns and explosions. I don't read any of the webcomics that Kaida would be into.

Tristan likes to imagine himself in a debonair hero role. He'd get into any story with a male protagonist who saves the day and gets his girl while maintaining his principles and virtues. -- I don't think I know too many of those in webcomics. Of the ones I know, he'd probably enjoy The Faction and Wolf , because they include good guys who do end up (at least making progress) with the girls they love.

My fantasy characters have never heard of comics. :( Poor, sheltered guys.

As for LF's characters...

- Chains probably has the same taste in manga that I do (probably likes a few more "guyish" things), which is pretty varied already. His former boyfriend didn't read manga as much but probably had the same tastes with it as he did in music - either sickeningly cute moe crap or really violent things (like Battle Royale, which I haven't read yet, but yeah).

- Emblem doesn't read much at all

- Hibiku probably used to like the old Archie comics

- Yu doesn't read much either actually, he'd think comics were silly

And I have a few characters like Noel and Jonegami who will read anything they get their hands on if it's worth their time.

George the Dragon would probably read Calvin and Hobbs :D

(actually....that gives me an idea for a new strip :D )

Gladys is probably more of a Far Side fan. :)

Dale? Well, Dale likes to read Cthulu style comics...
Find out what George is up to:

Mm, Ahab might like reading Heavy Metal magazine's comics. As for online stuff, nothing much comes to mind. She'd probably look at people's short little doodles on Deviantart.

Marcus might like old silver age comics like Nick Fury and Sergeant Rock. I don't envision him as computer savvy at all, so I can't see him websurfing for comics or opening a barely checked email account in less than 40 mins on each attempt.

"You tell yourself to just
enjoy the process," he added. "That whether you succeed or fail, win or
lose, it will be fine. You pretend to be Zen. You adopt detachment, and
ironic humor, while secretly praying for a miracle."

Eman Cruz reads Brood Knight and doesn't realize that Claudita is also a comic character. He doesnt go "WTF?!? Aren't you in the comics?!?"
http://www.drunkduck.com/MAG_ISA/index.php?p=368262

He also reads Edepth Angel
http://www.drunkduck.com/MAG_ISA/index.php?p=386114

And he also reads the comic he's in.
http://www.drunkduck.com/MAG_ISA/index.php?p=416645

And Devon Legacy...
http://www.drunkduck.com/MAG_ISA/index.php?p=294431

And he probably would read hentai and pr0n. Thats a given.

My other characters, there isnt really much proof in my comic to show it... but I'd say this:

Fr. Jose - he probably reads the bible and religious books and the newspapers. Maybe pr0n. He's a guy for cryin out loud.
Ricky - pr0n and hentai.
Tyrone - doesnt read at all. Maybe pr0n.
Claudita and other demons and angels - doesnt need to read. Why read when you can easily absorb info at a faster rate? Besides, reading is for mere mortals. lol!

I imagine that Paige would only really be interested in 8bit sprite comics and Megaman related things. She would definately be into Scott Pilgrim, but not many action comics because she's not into "fake" ninja stuff. Ninjas are so mainstream in here wold that comics like Naruto would just piss her off.

Her favorite comic of all time would be calvin and hobbes.
without buttcheecks, it's just a hole.

Zoe would read Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai 7, that sort of thing. XD On the webcomics area, she's read Fan Dan Go, Crowfeathers, Gott Gauss, Life and Death, all webcomics with personifications of Death actually.

Print comics are for high quality swords/ martial art displays. XD

Dave would read Black Jack. Just to be able to rant on the impossibility/ absurdity of some of the operations/ medical procedures there. XD He'd also be a fan of the classics, Tintin, Asterix, some Storm, stuff like that.

Webcomics, he'd be a little different. He'd read Fullmoon Stories, the Path, Broken Things, Brathalla, The Death of Sydney Walls, Vampire Phantasm X, and everything that's got a slant of the dark-mystery-sinister element. Yup, he doesn't look it, but hey, if he didn't have this well-hidden allure for danger, he wouldn't be able to be with Zoe the way he is, would he? ;)

Shockwire must have grown up on a steady diet of Marvel and DC's big titles. I don't see any of the other characters reading comics, really. But Shockwire is definitely a comic geek.
