Whoo! I made The Stick Figure category! I'm glad Stick Figure Comics made it too.

You know what would be cool (and I know this would be a pain and take a long time to implement) but it would be cool if someone could turn the finalists list in this thread into a list which links to each of the comics (even the ones which are on there more than once). I think that not only would it make it easier for the panels, but he would be easier for the casual curious readers and perhaps give the finalists a little boost in their readership. :)

"Dragon and the Lemur" is HARDLY an Anthro comic, compared to the others! *grumbles angrily* Its just yaoi smut and nothing else! It doesn't belong in that category! >.<

Heh, I dunno - it either IS or ISN'T an anthro comic - and clearly enough people think highly enough of it to be on that list. Funny that you're grumping about smut, but your forum sig is only a hop and skip away ^.~

So exactly how are you going to choose the winners?

Pooni, the winners will be decided by a panel of three judges (except the DDer awards - those were determined by popular vote, so I already know who they are ^.~). There are still some categories open that need one more panelist/judge if you'd like to sign up! Check out the "be a panelist" thread in this forum.

Hey, shaneronzio, thanks for the kind comment you left at my site. Much appreciated! I did almost nothing to get noticed this year (I've only been hosting on DD for four months), and a lot has been happening both with my series and the number of book reviews I've been receiving from a number of major publications, so there's always next year.

I'm not entirely sure, and I really don't want to look ungrateful, but L&D got the best humour award last year, so I'm not sure it's allowed to win that one again.. Unless it's a different award, in which case, forget I said anything.. Except "mackerel".. 'Cause it's a fun word to say :)

I believe L&D *did* win that award last year - but we didn't put any rule into place disqualifying previous winners. It was talked about, but we never did anything to make that official. I dunno - I feel that if people still think L&D is the funniest thing they've read two years running, why not give credit? ^.^

I have to agree with Amanda...why penalize excellence? If YOU KNOW you will never win another award after your first DD...would you try as hard in consecutive years? Probably not. Creativity should be promoted and made competitive, never limited due to arbitrary wishes.

My opinion is not to limit the number of times an artist can win the award in their particular category. Unless you get as good as Oprah Winfrey, who withdrew herself from Emmy consideration to give all the other talk shows a chance.
If there are a number of hot, talented artists out there to compete with, it gives us all something to strive for.

The Emmys don't limit winners...
