A small magpie cried for help when a young owl that was practising flight dropped on the Southern Road of Yongkang City at 1:30am. The call of the magpie had caught the attention of a nearby security guard working at Riverside Villa to come to the rescue.
Mr Gaowu Wong, the security guard of the Riverside Villa, said he heard an unusual nervous cry of the magpie and immediately rushed outside to check what's going on. He saw a magpie skipping around something what appears to be a small black object under the street light by the roadside.
"At that time, there were very few vehicles passing by. When a car approached, the magpie would fly up. Once the car had gone, it flew back down and continued crying for help." Mr. Wu discovered that the black object was apparently a small owl staying motionless on the road side. He immediately picked the owl up and brought it back to the office. The magpie flew to the office and waited there until sunrise. Mr. Wu contacted the Forestry Association in Yongkang City at 8:30am, the staff advised him of taking care of the young owl for a few days before releasing it to the wild.
