Are you kidding? This has Phoenix in it! I'd kill my own mother to see it!
Well, not my own mother. Maybe someone elses. I really do not care if the writing is complete crap, as long as we get to see the firebird thing just once.

Sorry, but I'm not much into Marvel or the live action movies. I'll probably rent the movie or end up seeing it, but I'm not in a huge hurry.
Fanservice is cool though.

That's cool ccs, thanks for not just bashing the movie like some people do. I'd suggest at least a rental...unless the movie does end up sucking, in which case I'll probably shed a single tear....or many many single tears

Just so everyone aware that clip was a chopped down version shown on Leno when Hugh Jackman was on.
The loss of Bryan Singer did make a huge impact, I'm a huge fan of his, heck my e-mail address is an homage to him. Though oddly if you just compare the trailers of X3 and Superman Returns (which is as dumb as judging two books by their cover) it just seems like X3 is so much more exciting. My X-Men fanboy roots outweighs my love for Singer and honestly I never got into Superman, he just always seemed like a robot, a boring boring robot. I'll see both movie though, heck I'm a comic book fan above all else. Gotta support the big ones so the small ones can get made!

I actually really liked Dare Devil. Better than the first Spider-Man movie. I do not care what anyone has to say about that. You will not change my mind.
HULK - I did not like. The effects were great, but the "father" story was dumb.

Never saw Electra, but any movie with Jennifer Garner in a tight leather outfit can't be all bad.

Oh, and Wolvie coming out from behind the head of what was apparently a giant laser-firing semi truck in the sky? Lame.
Yeah, I gotta agree (except it looks like a robot head, though I assume you know that and are just trying to be funny- nice try! ). They don't show HOW he defeated it, you just see the head fall to the ground. That was pretty cheap. Collosus looks lame. And Storm with a haircut? Still hot, but not as hot.
But I'll pay my 8 bucks and see it.

Fastball special is shitty in real lifeYeah, they really could have done more with that. The scene in LOTR Return of the King looked better than that. And that was crappy. :(
And I gotta say, the "Pheonix" story line is not a favorite of mine.

If Halle was gonna get her Oscar taken away it would've been for Twatwoman. Believe me! At least her hair doesn't look as fake as the wig from the first X-Men movie.
Since when is Juggernaut a mutant? I know he's in Excalibur now, which I thought was a "mutant's-only club". Plus, a few of the other X-Men TV appearances has him as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, which is stupid because HE'S NOT A MUTANT! His powers are magic-based! If Juggy's a mutant then Dr. Strange is a mutant, and he's not(just a bad dresser).
What is up with the "no Nightcrawler" crap. Is there some policy about not having more than one blue furry guy in the movie? While we're on it, are Toad and Sabertooth dead or what? They didn't show the corpses, so according to comic book law, they are still presumedly alive.
At least Icey's got a better role in this one. Hopefully they'll have some scene with all 5 original members. Now they gotta introduce Firestar so they could do a cheesy Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends flick just for old times sake. That's worth an Incredibles-styled 21st Century update!

fast ball special sucks
But still, ive been waiting for this movie for a long time, heck ill even buy a copy of this when its out on video.

SpANG!And I gotta say, the "Pheonix" story line is not a favorite of mine.Gasp! Phoenix is one of the driving forces behind me actually reading comics, so...
The first Excalibur had Captain Britian in it, and he wasn't a mutant. Just saying.
I heard Nightcrawler wanted an insane amount of money to be in this one, so they turned him down. I think I saw Toad in that seven minutes of the X-men movie they showed on Fox, so I'm guessing he's still alive.

skoolmunkee says SPOILER WARNING since Jalford can't be bothered to edit his post after someone suggested it and she thinks a spoiler warning would be a good idea too
Actually the entire rest of this thread is pretty much a spoiler so here's your warning for it.
-------
Sheesh! Did enough people get shamelessly killed off in this one? Although Cyclops is only "presumed" dead since they didn't find a body, even though he's hardly had any airtime in the last movie either accept for being brainwashed or wussying on about Jean being "presumedly" dead. As for Prof. X's bit at the end, since his body was destroyed, he must've downloaded his consciousness into a comatose body in the facility where Dr. MacTaggert was working at. Jean could of course probably come back too since she's been resurrected more times than Jason, Freddy Kreuger, and Jesus combined!
They did a pretty good deal with the extended mutant cast. Although they didn't explain how Beast was in human form in X2, and now he's fully-furry. Callisto got way too many powers from her comic counterpart. Psylocke was dumbed down alot as far as her powers too. Nice to see Multiple Man. Shadowcat finally gets some decent airtime, although it would've been cool to see Jubilee too. Angel was fair, even if he is one of the more boring X-Men. And Juggernaut just rocked! Don't care if he's not really a mutant, that was just gold! It would've been nice if they bothered saying whether Toad or Sabertooth were still alive or not from the first flick, or where the hell Nightcrawler was.
For the original cast, they brought this whole darker side to Prof. X that actually made Magneto's side look like the fair one. Magneto was a cold prick though after what happened to Mystique("That's my slave name!"), and him being turned human would've been an act worse than death for him, which might've only been temporary on high-class mutants. Iceman finally ices up, although I don't remember his clothes being visible before when he did that. Rouge pretty much wussed out at the last minute, which I don't know why she's at the Xavier Institute since she's human now. Cyclops just was a whiney bitch as usual. They just couldn't write anything interesting for him after the first movie. Jean's version of the Phoenix's is more like something out of a Stephen King novel. I half-expected to see the 666 sign on her forehead. And...Mystique's a brunette? Say what?
Even though alot of reports had come in claiming that this is the last X-flick, they left a big enough room for more. I saw in an interview with the director Brett Ratner about why he doesn't want to do an X4. He said "because there's never been a good Part 4 of a movie franchise". Uh...hello. Star Wars: Episode Iv-A New Hope ring any bells? Plus, Star Trek 4 which was the best of the classic Trek movies. Hell, even Rocky IV wasn't too bad!

MORE SPOILERS
To me, Cyclops is the saddest part of the movie. I know I must be the only person on the planet who likes Cyclops, but I think he deserved a little bit better. Just about every other X-man dies a hero. He died a wreck. I hoped to see him redeem himself. I hope you're right and he's not actually dead and there's a sequel to prove it.
Now that I think about it, Jean never redeemed herself either. She took hundreds of lives and was never able to control Dark Pheonix, and in the end could only beg to have her life ended. Xavier's last words to her never sunk in!... except that it was probably due to some minimal amount of control that Wolverine was able reach her and finish her off.
Toad actually showed up twice in the movie. In the end fight he was hanging from a tower when a dart hit him and turned him human. He fell and I assume he died.

Actually, that character's name was Lizard Man played by Lloyd Adams according to the movie cast list. Why Toad was substituted for him, I dunno, especially since there isn't a character in Marvel Comics called Lizard Man.

I'm a little disapointed about how they handled Phoenix. You see the begining of the Phoenix effect a lot in the second movie, but they went a whole different direction with it in this one, making her more demonic looking. I think that was a bit of a dumb move.

You're probably right about the guy on the tower. We never got a very good look at him until the quick shot where he lost his powers, and it felt like I saw scales instead of slimy skin.
However, I could've sworn it was Toad we saw climbing above the stained-glass window in the large mutant meeting near the beginning.

You see a lady in a hospital adjusting some machines or something near some hospital beds. The camera angle changes to the perspective of one of the patients. You hear a very familiar voice say, "Moira?..."
The nurse turns and is shocked... she replies, "Charles?!"
What we're supposed to get from this is that Xavier transfered his conciousness to a comatose body.
