adobe photoshop has been acting up in a odd way lately...
for example, whenever I try to open a new doceument, it says stratch disk is full or something...
yet both my harddrives have plenty of space to spare...
anybody ever experniced something like this, and how do you stop it?

If you haven't restarted your computer in a while, the virtual memory that Photoshop uses sometimes just grows and grows.
It also might help to check for patches to Photoshop on the adobe website.
If all else fails, uninstall Photoshop, defragment your hard drive and then reinstall Photoshop. Sometimes that works.

The scratch disk has to do with the space on your hard-drive. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I fixed it by having two hard-drives. Drive C is what Photoshop is on, Drive E doubles as a memory device and a scratch disk.

I suggest deleting any temp files and to defragment your harddrives. Re-install Photoshop if it doesnt help.
I have much the same. I use an insane amount of space for my pages so they "steal" alot of memory when opened.
It's usually best to not to have C: as your scratch disk.

Yeah, like VegaX said, it's best to have your scratch disk set to a hard drive besides the one that Windows is running off of.
Photoshop like to desposit nice, huge temp files onto your root directory of the scratch disk. It's okay to delete these if you're not using Photoshop at the time. I've freed up several gigabytes at a time before by doing this.

uhhh. if you would read all of my posts, I said the harddrives were NOT full.... in fact I had plenty of space... up to 800 gbs of space in fact.
and, I fixed the silly little error. so you didn't need to post.

Just as a side question, I seem to have forgotten how to tell Photoshop which drive I want as my scratch disk. How would I do that?
