Wouldn't it be awesome to do a massive cross-over comic!

Sorry, I've been thinking about some of the comics on DrunkDuck and how awesome it would be if some of the best characters got together in a comic ^^

The thing is with crossovers is that just putting together all the best characters, does not necessarily make things better.

Imagine a show with Commander Worf, Sylar of Heroes, Dr Baltar from battlestar Galactica and John Connor from terminator.
It would just be confusing!

BFF Satan- I think you are under estimating how many times that has happened!

Actually, I think that an anual DD crossover could be a neat idea...

I'd love to see an annual DrunkDuck event, like a war or maybe a team-up between popular characters

itd be a travesty.

headaches from trying to keep everything in line, bruised egos and hurt feelings from peoples characters not getting enough screen time, artists and writers falling flat on their promise to do a page or whatever since they arent getting paid for it...

If you have an idea for a crossover comic you can set it up in the community section of the forum. As stated earlier this sort of thing happens every freakin day.

I dunno, it would seem to cheapen the characters a bit. Characters are often cool because of the setting and situation they are in.
Just heaping them together in some random place would lose what it was that made them good. It would feel more like just name dropping.

Another point- This relies on all the characters involved being well known enough that readers will get what is happening.
Watching a team up between people I don't recognise would just be lame, and how many webcomic characters have that sort of recognition? If I am honest, I know mine don't. I have a following of readers, but if my characters just randomly appeared in a crossover hardly any of the readers will know who they are or appreciate what they are supposed to be about.

I'm just not a team up/crossover fan, these things tend to suck.

For example, the Alien is cool and Predator is cool.
Put the two together and what do you get?
A steaming pile of manure on film.

I did saw something like that in Korean comic (It's search engine site actually)Website called "Naver".
It's called as "Rice cooker incident"
It start when Winter(Character of Pink Lady)Throw away her rice cooker. After that,The other character take the rice cooker and it pass on and on.Pretty much like an relay. The ending is unknown because no one really ended it.But most people believe an artist named "Wony" ended it.

(The weird king is King "Solo"mon. He represent Single wanting girlfirend. This is bit boring because I didn't translated it.Haha.It feel less "Alive"to me somehow.I don't know.It feel too much like an "Book"or something...)

Me and my friends used to do comics and we used to mention each others characters/events in our own comics (Say One character Jumped off a building, my character would hold a newspaper with that description)

Weirdly though we never did a cross-over comic

Yeah, I think the whole "Too many hands stirring the pot" would apply to this idea.

It might work out better if just a few creators that had similiar genres where including each others characters in a crossover wouldn't seem out of place.

I"ll give you the biggest and worst crossover ever. Marvel VS. DC. It's like Nickguy said, except with major publishers. Nobody wanted any of their characters to look bad. The plot was just a flimsy excuse to get the characters together. The 5 major fights lasted like 3 pages each, and the outcomes were voted for on the fans, which is never a good idea.

Maybe it's just me, but I really don't think Wonder Woman could take out Storm from the X-Men (While Wonder Woman was holding Mjolnir nonetheless) yet somehow it happened.

It was a whole bunch of hype and not a lot of payoff.

It's a Grizzly Bear battling Zombies. Do you need to know more?

I dunno, I never thought Storm was that great a character.
Wonder woman could block lightning with her magic bracelets, she is strong enough to resist being thrown around by gusts of wind AND she has that magic lasso thing.
Storm would get whupped!

Actually, I posted wrong. I meant to say I don't think Storm could take out Wonder Woman, yet that's what happened. My bad on that. :)

The worst part was the amalgamation comics that came afterwards. I mean, Combining Superboy and Spider-man? That just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Though I'll admit, it was actually really funny to see batman and Wolverine combined.

And utterly sad and pathetic to see Superman and Captain America. Ugh.
