If someone rang me up and told me my comic was being turned into a movie, I'd seriously consider asking them to see a psychologist. It isn't even movie material, it's just a bunch of crappy photos with speech bubbles inserted.

In the highly unlikely situation that that would ever happen, it depends how much money I was offered. I think it would be pretty hard to resist a barrel full of money (or even a barrel full of monkeys...that would also be cool).

Why just "a movie" why not a full series. I'm sure I could film a decent enough penis movie with almost no budget at all. I'd love to sell my stuff to film companies and get more of a passive income as well.
I don't care if Uwe Boll wants my stuff, I'll sell it to him.

Possibly in anime format. If it's a movie, I think my vampire comic would work well in movie format.

Better than TV is only started, but it is not suited to movies, even though we record our selfs acting. If they really wanted to, i would have to know whats being done, so i know there not ruining what ive worked on.
Read the Author, its good i promise.

A movie about my web comic? As flattering it sounds no way in hell. I like my comic but no way. It's not good enough for the screens. A video game perhaps but no screen deal. Drawn comics is a different story. I've sometimesthought of that being a tv show or movie series. But that's besides the point. No movie deal for Hybrid thank you kindly.

Only if I had complete control of every aspect of the film. I'd never leave my characters in someone else's hands just because I want to be in control of which direction they're being developed.
I think the reason a lot of people want to make comics is because they can have complete control based only on their own skills, and it's low budget.
Unfortunately the low budget and complete control also creates limitations, but you can get around that if you take advantage of what comics can do that movies can't, inherently through their form.

I don't care anymore about my "creations" I've created a guy who gives abortions and a walking racial stereotype. Why am I so protective of that?

Most definitely. I actally tried to make an animated movie of 20 Galaxies once. It made me realize that I don't like animating all that much -

LonnehartYeah, bugger Hollywood! Jebus.
I certainly wouldn't. At least not with Hollywood.
Try Bollywood! That's the ticket man. ;)
I'd make sure that it had at least fifteen dance sequences in there for NO APPARENT REASON! Dancing, singing, really elaborate routines with falling petals and gold and water features, amazing stunts, the whole mess! That'd be my dream...
And as soon as the action got too sexy or naughty, we'd cut away to some footage of blooming flowers or shooting fountains or something. Cool, no? B)
Those guys really know how to make movies.
No argument, I'd sell out to Bollywood in a heartbeat. Maybe I'd only get a few thou for it as opposed to a few hundred thou from Hollywood, but you have to make some sacrifices for art...

I'd be all for it. Hopefully I could get a good director; I'm not of the mind that I should be getting a great, famous director for the movie, but it'd be nice to have someone who cares about the movie, and not just getting his paycheck at the end of the day.
An interesting point I heard from Peter Jackson is that, when making the LOTR series, his first priority was making a Good movie, and his second priority was remaining faithful to the comic, and that's the sort of mentality I'd like from someone working on an Elijah and Azuu film. I wouldn't really care if the characters didn't look like their comic counterparts, or if specifics about everything were rearranged a bit, as long as the movie is good, and hopefully keeps some of the "feel" of the original comic.

I had a dream mine was made into a 3 part movie. I didn't know anything about the movies till they (whoever they were) showed all 3 to me. I guess they made all 3 at once before any are released, that's why dreams make so much sense ^^
Anywho, the story was totally different, rushed, and my main characters all died before the big finish and supporting cast finished the movie off without them.
And oddly enough, I enjoyed watching all 3.
And yes, if I was offered money for a movie to be made of my comics they could rape it all they wanted. I just want the cash XD

Oh man, I would sell out SO HARD. ^_^
Little chance of it happening- even if Grog was the kind of thing that would work as a movie, the pirate humour market is pretty much covered in movie-land. ;) Atlantis Paradise on the other hand.... :D

oh totally.
I would of course loove for it to be a nice indie though...!
like, a tiny-budget movie with no famous actors and really bad special effects, and Flipper could be claymation!!! *braingasm* that'd be so cool!!! And it would be more focused on the psychological stuffs and relationships rather than action... (because of budget-constraints, heh!!)
and it would be released straight-to-dvd... ^_^ that's my dream come true!
I actually think that with some polishing, my comic could be a really awesome anime series, though. Or a video game. YEAH! it would work really well for gameboy...
I don't consider it selling out, anyway. I'd still draw the comic myself, true to my own vision. I would just let other people play with it in different media.

Yeah, I'd do it! And I'd like it, too!
Eh, Nadya would probably end up like Eragon, which bugs me. I think the movie would have to be in 3 parts, though, which would mean great things for my empty pockets...

I had a dream I made a movie out of someone else's comic once, but everything was made of cardboard and nobody liked it... Plus it didn't hold up well in the rain. D:
But honestly... lots of things are great in their original format, but I wonder who the target audience is when they make them into movies... So no. Not that I count, my comic's not page-y enough for anyone but me to know. @_@

I sometimes wonder whether certain scenes of my comic would do better animated. I see them play out in my head. Perhaps it's just because I'm not good enough to draw and time them the way I'd like them to be.
I don't think I'd like a movie much, what with all the cutting things out and changing things and whatnot. A TV series? That'd be cool. I saw a few episodes of Silverwing (a novel about bats by Kenneth Oppel) and it was pretty true to the storyline. You get a lot more hours with TV, so they don't need to cut it.
Money-wise, it'd be nice, but I think it's waaaaaaaay too early for me to think about that stuff. I only started high school this year, for goodness' sake.
Hmm, now that I think about it, chapter one of ToK would probably only be one episode long at most. I dunno. But original format is usually best, I agree.

An animated feature would be cool and achieveable. Considering programs like ToonBoom and Poser are relatively cheap.

Yes, I think HtbR would make a killer movie, as long as it was 2D animated and not CG or Live Action.
Plus we could use the bags of money from Holllywood so that Jeremy could draw the comic full time. Then we'd be able to update more than once a week.
spambot: patiently waiting to sell out. :P

I'm waiting patiently for a letter from Pixar or Dreamworks. I'd love to see my characters in 3D...mind you it'd either be like Shrek with hidden adult jokes or watered down quite a bit. Either one would be fine with me.
Honestly, though, I could totally see a Pixar movie called "Dragon City."

Yes, I would. It wouldn't be too heavy on special effects and the story is character driven, which makes for interesting dialogue, and there's enough suspence and fast paced action in there to hold the audience. I think it would work :)

yep! I would, but I would prefer a TV mini series instead.
And I would prefer it to be animated then live action...
But when its money sure, so long as it has the same audience rating. I dont want to make comics for everyone and have a movie remake be rated R or something

Ogre might be adapted to a play if the director can work it out.
I'd be OK with a movie as long as it wasnt a blockbuster bs.

I really doubt Hollywood would be interested in any of my comics. I think Ouroboros would make the best movie out of them though, and should a movie adaptation come up, I think I'd want to have a large part in directing, or atleast the editing o_o
