Would you allow your comic to be made into a movie?

I certainly wouldn't. At least not with Hollywood. I'm sure the producers there will want to make changes from the source material and attempt to cut me out of the production process... well, that's my opinion anyway.

No. They'd try to turn all the jokes into ridiculous wannabe gangsta crap and sexual innuendoes.

Although I would like to see how they'd go about with bringing Erag to life...

They'd probably destroy any project I worked on, but if they wanted to adapt one of my projects, absolutely I'd let them. Besides the money made from selling the film rights, you can't get much better publicity than a Hollywood film. Then I could scour the internet to read all the threads on forums about how the comic is better than the movie.

Although it's easy to say no to such an idea NOW, if the actual proposal became a reality EVERYONE of you would do it. It would mean you got MONEY and money is what you want. I don't think anyone here are rich enough to say no to a barrel full of money.

Just like me all you greedy bastards would scream YES before they evan finished asking the question. ;)

My comic isn't really suited for movie format, but a TV series or miniseries would be cool. (It plays in my head like a series...) I don't think TV people screw up things as badly as movie people do.

Hell's Yeah...Well, not Marital Bliss??? 'cause that would be silly...(Although a half-hour animation show wouldn't be objected to. Heck, if Baby Blues can do it, why can't we?) But, I am working on several other projects and I'm counting on at least one of them allowing me to sell out. I would only do it if I could produce though, or if I got a part. (Like, Subcultured...I want 'ta tha' cash.)

I'd love to see my comic as an animated feature. Preferably 2D.

If a movie were to be made out of Living With Me, I would let 4kids handle it.

It would be so fucking awesome.

Yes I would but the movie budget would have to be high like 150 million and up for the special effects and advertising.

Same, although not my Assassin Assassin comic, cause that sucked. Some future project though.

But I wouldn't object to a movie. If someone made a movie out of any comic made by me I'd try to stay as far away from it as possible, just so I could watch it when it finally gets made to see how it came out. However if it was a 2D animated OVA or something then I would try to be as involved as possible with it.

Absolutely, I'd be flattered that someone would want to make a movie out of one of my ideas. lol! And hey, even if it turns out god-awful, people that read the comic before will go on about how much it sucked, and people will read the comic out of curiosity.

Win-win. : D

Probably. If someone like Tim Burton wanted to do it, I'd let him in a heartbeat. XP On the other hand if somebody like Uwe Boll wanted to make a movie out of VP...I don't know what I'd do. Probably let him and then kill myself for it afterwards. =D

Maybe the topic question should be changed to "if your comic was made into a movie, would it blow?" It all really depends. If I had a lot of control over it it might be alright (or be even worse? XD)...then again I don't see myself as the director type. Maybe I could write it instead and give lectures from the sidelines. =/ I know I'd want them to cast unknown actors.

an anime based on my comic would kick ass! after the anime then i'd let them make a movie about it. even if the movie is way diffrent than the comic, i'd like to see it. tarantino would direct...or kevin smith....

Hell's yeah! For all reasons stated. I don't even care if Uwe Boll did it and it turned out worse than Bloodrayne. Again, for all reasons stated.

I would prefer:

1. Anime format.
2. TV series or OVA series rather than movie.

While it would be awesome incarnate to see Project Mango turned into a movie, it'll probably fit an episodic anime format better then a movie, also given the...themes addressed in PM, I'd imagine the ratings would severely limit viewership...

Still be awesome though

Hmmmmm, let me weigh this out....

The chances of Hollywood taking on a Christian-themed movie with multiple plus-sized characters, mixed-race characters and a dream sequence involving the Devil and the entrance to Hell...

They'd get the last part right. ;)

Actually, this thread begs an interesting question -- if you did agree to have your comic made into a movie, which actors would you like to play the characters?

They'd probably have to get all unknowns for Due East. :)

Only if I had complete control of every aspect of the film. I'd never leave my characters in someone else's hands just because I want to be in control of which direction they're being developed. I don't want to see someone make my character Tom into some gangsta shootin' people down with every scene. I'd rather do it myself.

It would be one MESSED UP movie, full of sudden smash cuts, random happenings and nazis...so yes, yes I would.
Providing Gilliam or Del Toro directed it.

If my comic ever became reality(HINT, HINT, YOU TWATS!!!), then no, I wouldn't let it be a movie. I just don't think it would be suited for cinema, especially not with real people.

Now, if it was considered for an anime, that'd be different.

A movie about an airport?

*cough*

(Shut up, I know that was a show.)

...yeah, that totally didn't work first time around. Though if I did ever get the offer. I would do it in a fucking heartbeat. Though a game would work a hell lot better.

a movie based on my comic... *Laughs for a couple days*

but really if they made a movie of a sprite comic then that'd mean they were getting desperate...

anyway I wouldn't because, besides obvious reasons, My opinion of hollywood is lower then hell...

ad uh mega josh? if you let 4kids handle it then your comic would be severely butchered... just look what they did with pokemon, it's better off japanese:P

Yeah, that would never happen. Unless your speilberg or you can pay for the movie yourself you're pretty much stuck with whatever the guy's with the bags of money want to do. A creator's feedback doesn't mean squat unless it'll make them money in the box office.
