Would this be a good idea?

Well, for the past few days, I have been deciding to switch to just pencils (and maybe ink)

I know the colors look nice and everything, but it's just so hard these days to go and color every last page and try to make a deadline. I'm in High School too mind you, and I do have a social life :P

I mean, I wouldn't totally give up on colors, because some of the pages would still be in it (Like the first few pages of a chapter) But just for now, so I can get to my storyline a little quicker.

Get idea or not?

Personally, I don't see a need to rush the storyline. Pacing and patience make good comics even better. If you rush things your readers might lose sight of what it is you're trying to do.

Pencil/ink and color have their ups and downs. Pencil/ink is faster, but you have to clean up your marks and such before scanning. Color looks nice and flashy, but it takes a lot more work and time. Pick your poison, really. :)

Either style is good, it's really just a matter of your own personal preference... mine happens to be color 'cause I'm a real sloppy sketcher. lol!
By the time you finish this, you'll have read it. :3

Thanks!

With that being said, I think I will continue to Photoshop my pages.

So I guess this can be used as a little help topic for people. In a sense.

I mean, colored pages do take a lot of work and time, but you just can't stress yourself out (or so I've found out), you have to work at your own pace that works for you.

:P

well, pencil and inks are hard too. Pencil does require a lot of work if you don't want it to look sketchy.

Although if you get used to penciling-inking-coloring with a basic fill, you'll get the pages done in no time.
Just find a method and practice until you get the hang of it. It took me two weeks to make my first page on watercolors, now it takes 1 day.

Putting your mind into it is an important step, eg: always close all the shapes while inking on paper, so then you can fill them easily in PS

Scanning linework art is not hard, you can easily fix them with brightness/contrast on PS
