I'm not sure how many of you knew about this, so I'm posting it. I was reminded about it when I was talking to the dispatchers at the 911 Call Center the other day.

Basically what happens is, Tom Leykis was having one of his "Actual Topic" shows and the topic was things you have done bad, but got away with. This woman calls in and tells word for word how she got away with killing the father of her child. In the end, she was arrested because it's a nationally syndicated program here in the USA.

Here's the actual call and how he milked her for all the information:

Interesting that she didn't blab to someone who'd blackmail her, or a psychiatrist or confess to a priest or something.

I love how she doesn't realise that a confession doesn't count as evidence.

The worst thing is that the police just accepted her story as truth. Didn't question anyone else or investigate or anything?

Actually, she was already a suspect. The death was ruled a homicide, not a suicide as she believed, but they couldn't prove anything at the time connecting her to it.

With the details she gave and the investigation the department undertook, they were able to prove she was the one who killed the man. They didn't just take her word for it, there was more to it. I gave the really, really short version of the story.

*sigh* I weep for humanity.
