We don't have a confirmed time yet, but the web comics panel will be on Saturday, probably about 11AM. We got a really good response from people at the Philly one, I'm excited to see how this one goes now that we have some feedback.

Ah bowling is super fun, but Rosemont is all spread out (and really lame after dark)
We'll defnatly be doing some group event, we just don't know what it is yet! We gotta make sure it's close by so that everyone can go. hmmmm...

We could all meet up at the convention center and hop the rail. I know what you mean by Rosemont being a bit bland. I'm staying more towards downtown and it's just a 15 minute hop. Just thinking aloud here. ^_^ I do too much of it I know.

Hey thanks actually I appreciate the input. Should have some info on this early next week. I'm boring, what I always liked to do at cons in Rosemont was to see how many Otaku you could cram in one local's car and make a trip to Mitsuwa. Well that was before I moved to LA and realized they're just a grocery store chain.

If you want bowling you could take the blue line to California and go to the Fireside (they're kinda expensive, though).

Where, physically, is the DD table at the con? Sorry if it's posted, but I missed it.
By the way, from the Hyatt to downtown via the blueline is about 35 minutes, but there's a ton to do in Chicago (as opposed to Rosemont).

That reminds me! I should warn you all that they are working on the Subway portions of the Blue Line, so there may be delays close to downtown :(

Hey, Thanks for the heads up Rori,
Albone>We don't have an actual location on the map yet, but the Drunk Duck alley is actually 5 tables in the artist alley. We're pretty hard to miss, just look for the giant duck stand up signs!

Thanks Carly. :)
Do you know your table number yet? Even if you don't, Wizard has everyone who's in Artist Alley listed and what everyone's number is, plus where they are on the map. In case anyone would like to know I have tables 3116 - 3118 A.

I won't have my own table, but I am definitely planning on being there. A couple yeara ago, my son and I made the four-hour drive. We had a great time and I think that may have been the moment I started thinking about doing a comic of my own. Looking forward to meeting other Drunk Duckers.

Sweet! Everyone MUST come by we're playing games this time around and giving away tons of cool prizes (and lame ones too, that's how we roll!)
Yeah and all DD'ers need to come by and get their own set of Quail pins/buttons.
YAY I'm so excited, comic con last week, Wizard World Chicago the next. I'd be tired and overloaded if I weren't such a geek.

Definitely looking forward to Chicago. The Comic-Con was fun but WAY too crowded, it will be nice to be able to walk the booths at a pace greater than 1 step an hour. See you all there!

I'll definitely be by, it's my first comic con, so I'm uber-excited :D
Hmmm...Any sage advice for a con virgin?
(ps-the m-f'n blue line will be closed from Western to Jackson (basically downtown) from 11pm-1am that weekend)

Advice: Budget yourself wisely. Make sure you don't blow all your money in one stop. I've dropped a my whole wad of cash on a con before only to later realize I had bought a lot of crap and the good stuff was on other side of the convention. Also sometimes, not often but sometimes, people will drop their prices on sunday.

Here's some advice:
1) Wear comfortable shoes and clothes (it can get hot and sticky with all the fan boys around)
2) what Nick said
3) If you're there to meet people have a business card to give away, in turn have some place safe to put all the business cards you get.
4) If you have a comic, make a little take away sheet. All it needs is some art, your log line, and your web address<--- don't forget that, it's the most important
5)Don't be shy! Everyone there is a geek AND is there for pretty much the same reason you are. If you see someone cool, or you like something an artist is doing/has go ask them about it!
6) Stay well fed and well rested. Don't let yourself get overwhelmed by the people or events, it's easy to get on a downward slide and before you know it you're cranky and not having fun anymore.
7) Come by the Drunk Duck alley, we have prizes, and red bull, and cookies!

Carly's number 6 is incredibly important and I have to add onto that - Stay well hydrated! Especially if you're going to be working in the alley. You're going to be doing a lot of talking and a lot of (potentially) walking for almost eight hours straight. Keep drinking. It's easy to forget - I permanently keep a bottle of water on my table to remind me to drink.
The convention center food is typically very expensive. (I remember it was $7 for a hot dog and sprite) So if you can pack a lunch I'd recommend doing so. There isn't much around the CC but about 3-4 blocks (towards the interstate and rail) away is a pizza joint - it is cheaper to eat there than at the CC.
And don't rush. If you have a weekend pass, you got three days. Take your time and enjoy. :D
