No, it's not the real thing, but the article said it used to exist long ago. Looks like a chainsaw shark to me.

They ARE disgusting. But the impression this cropped photo gives is that they are huge. And by the way, there are TWO there. They grow to be about the same size as tarantulas;)

Well I love these baby hedgehogs:


The Oar fish is a pretty unusual creature... They're extremely huge, elongated fish with a single undulating fin on their backs. And unlike other fish, they spend most of their time vertical in the ocean with their heads to the surface and their tails hanging down, moving along sideways. Here's a pic of one in it's natural environment:



And here's one that washed up on the beach somewhere... You can see how large they are. (click to see it full sized):



The Ocean Sunfish or Mola Mola is another amazing looking creature; Gigantic fish that sort of resemble bizarrely bloated out versions of miniature tropical fish, and yet these things are big enough to disable sailing yachts and frequently do. -they like to swim along aimlessly near the surface and they weigh a tonne or two, that's enough to take of a rudder or even a keel.





I know an unusual one! These cows... They're an unusual bread that grow extra massive horns, they look like a cheap photshop trick but are completely real. The one sitting down is a pet named "Lurch"

Wow! I didn't know oarfish were so big. From the pictures, they always look just like little fish, haha. That makes them even cooler than before.

Giant Rolly Polly!

Ewwww! That's a Sea-louse I think. A huge version of the little saprophytic bugs that like live under rocks in your garden and curl-up when threatened. Sometimes called pill-bugs, woodlice, and even slaters. The marine version is actually related to the tiny garden one!
I wonder if they're also related to centipedes or millipedes?

Batfishes are indeed fish, and when seen from above may look like bats, but probably more like splayed frogs with tails. The unicorn effect on the head is a snoutand it protects a thin, retractable appendage that the batfish deploys to lure small edible fishes. The legs (they're pectoral fins, really) allow batfishes to crawl about the seafloor. They are reluctant swimmers

I could have sworn that picture was debunked as "Photoshopped" on Ripleys or something like that. I'm gonna do a little research to see if I'm right...

EDIT: Alright, nevermind. I did a quick search on Google and there were a ton of images of the cow. They wouldn't photoshop that many photos just to prove he exists. Forget I said anything.

That Batfish is Amazing! Hahaha, looks like something from Sponge Bob! Hahahaha!

Yeah, that cow is an African "Watusi" breed. I think most pics of of "Lurch"... But there are other examples. I think they're prone to growing different variates of massive horns. One other type I've seen is just extremely Looooong horns like the classic "long horn" type, but longer! -not as thick as Lurch's massive head ornaments though.

Another interesting type of horny ruminant are highland sheep who often have at least 3 different pairs of horns on their heads! And something that's very strange is this small dear like creature that lives in the no-man's land area between North and South Korea. If I remember correctly it has long saber-tooth like fangs that it can actually move around to get out of the way of eating, or reverse their direction or something... Very strange.

As I've already explained, that is what is commonly known in some places as a "sea louse". It is indeed related to the bugs you find in your garden, but it's obviously a different creature.
