The 'Compliment the comic above you' thread went well, but I'd like to see if we can put a bit of a twist on it.

There was a thread for the Comic Book Challenge particpants to do this, but I'm curious as to how -you- would pitch your comic.

The rules:

Pitch your webcomic to us Drunk Duck users. If you do a well-enough job, you could be getting some new, interested readers!

Hope I'm not being redundant. Anyway, use this template, and let's see where this goes:

Name of comic: (Self-explanatory- do not forget to link us to your comic! Make it easy. )

Genre: (Feel free to categorize your comic into a mixture like "Sci-Fi Comedy Drama", or whatever you like.

Synopsis: (Try and keep this brief- hook us with your idea. Your goal is to get readers, not simply by saying -read- this. You could tell us about characters and plot, etc.)

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: ( Why is your comic different?Be funny, or creative. Keep hooking. If you do a good enough job, you could get some pageviews from simply being charismatic.)

Please, please feel free to add more to the template. Get to it!

Name of comic: Nadya: http://www.drunkduck.com/nadya
Genre: Fantasy/Drama/Adventure

Synopsis: A woman whom we only know as the Queen (for now) wakes up dead. We as readers don't know why she died, who killed her, or how long she's been dead. What we do know is that she isn't in her world anymore. She's currently being creeped out by a shadow-spider-lady, who is apparently supposed to protect her. Cool, huh? :)

Why should you read my comic?: Because I put a -lot- of time into the art. The first 5 or so pages are representative of the time I spent thinking the art wasn't too important, or worth spending 7+ hours on. This is pretty much my best work- I'm not skimping on the art, or trying to half-ass my way through the story, either. It's worth taking a look at. The plot we have in store for you guys is pretty damn epic.

Rate your comic on a scale of one to ten: 8.9 =)

Will there be hot chicks/dudes?: Why, yes. Plenty. :-)

Hmm, can't pass up free publicity.

Name of comic: Early Game MonsterRead It Here

Genre: Action/Comedy/Drama/Romance (Actimandramedy)

Synopsis: In a generic high fantasy world that no one gets tired of seeing, a young monster must cope with the fact that he's a purple little weakling. Watch as he levels up, challenges heroes, and hordes treasure in humerous fashion. Now with more beer kegs!

Why YOU should take the time to read MY comic!: It's full color (everyone likes color, right?), it takes place in a fantasy universe (everyone likes fantasy, right?), and it has BIG BODACIOUS BOOBS!

...everyone likes boobs, right?

Will there be blood?: Oh yes, there will be blood.

Will there be raids, level 60 orc warlocks, and giant fire demons?: Yeah, sure, whatever you say.

FOR THE HOARDE!!!: I don't know what you're talking about!! How did you get this number!

Eh, a bit of a shameless plug, but might as well.

Name of Comic: For Your Eyes Only (Click the name for the link)

Genre: Comedy/Drama

Synopsis: One day, a girl named April finds a necklace in her attic. The necklace turns out to be an ancient and powerful artifact that bonds to April's skin! Now, April has to learn to cope with the strange side effects of her little mistake.

Why should we take the time to read your comic?: Because if you don't, you'll be denying yourself one of the most revolutionary new comics to be seen in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD!! That, and it's got ancient Egyptian artifacts, which have been popular recently.

Will there be girls kissing other girls?: Yes. Plenty.

Name of comic: Presence
Link: http://www.drunkduck.com/Presence/

Genre: Sometimes fantasy-based real life :D

Synopsis: A collection of poetically written comics about happiness, sadness, anger, and life in general.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: It's a poetry comic, something that I'm pretty certain has not been done before or that often at all. It has pretty art and coloring. It updates often enough. I think there's something for everyone - light hearted things, sad things, bloody things...

Ok, I'll play. :3

Name of comic: Purgatory Tower
Genre: Fantasy, Action/Adventure

Synopsis: A group of convicts are taken out of a prison and placed into a mysterious tower, told that if they can manage to reach the top floor while still breathing, their prison sentences will be pardoned. The story follows Aisha as she quickly discovers that what's inside the tower, and what's waiting at the top of it, isn't exactly what they were promised.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: Because it's shiny. No? Well, it updates regularly (at least once a week, usually twice), I spend hours drawing and coloring each page, the main character is a sarcastic thief with a short temper and not a shining hero in white armor, and the story is going to get far more interesting very shorty as some key characters are introduced. ;3

Part of me feels embarassed for plugging in a fancomic, but at the same time, this looks too good to pass up the chance.

Name of comic: Pokemon Yellow Comics

Genre: Action-Adventure/Half-Manga?/Comedy

Synopsis: The year is 1999, and in the land of Kanto, two trainers, who go by the names of Bklcbkl (don't ask what was up with his mother at naming) and CDwxx (Nickname, Short for Clavin Dewuks Oak) start a journey to be the best Pokemon trainer ever. Which to them means to be better than each other, of course. Armed with a Pikachu who would rather ignore and shock the living hell out of him, Bklcbkl must now go through a land where everyone is either against him, or has a serious problem.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: Because, who else do you know takes a fairly decent sprite comic and makes it into a drawn comic (although the change wasn't originally meant to be permanent) The art is kind of a mix between my own cartooning style and the anime/manga style of the Pokemon universe. That, and unlike nearly every other Pokemon Comic out there, this is based on the Yellow version rather than Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald or FireRed/LeafGreen. That, and the humor is good and it doesn't really get in the way of whatever is going on.

Rate your comic on a scale of one to ten: 8. The art may not be as good as many other drawn comics, out there, but everything else about PYC does it's job to make up for it.

...By god I talk a lot!

My turn.

Name of Comic: Used Books
Rating: T+ (violence, mild language)
Genre: Mostly drama, some situational comedy, and a good bit of random violence
Style: B&W sketch (some color pages), manga influence

Synopsis: Three best friends are sharing their lives in and around a used book store.

I guess I should also mention one is a police officer who quit the force after spending her first and only year dismantling a major criminal organization from the core. Another used to be an assassin for that organization. The third is a genius who was orphaned as a child. In short, it is a close but very fragile friendship at best -- particularly if certain well-kept secrets come to light. Add onto that a host of very angry and violent people, jilted lovers, long missing family members (especially sibling dynamics), jealous and vengeful ex-coworkers, and people who haphazardly end up crossing paths with this group.

Why should we take the time to read your comic?: Watch as I learn how to draw! It's a good story, and the art is coming along with time... If you like mystery and crime, you'll probably enjoy the story (influenced by murder mysteries, Lupin III, Detective Conan, and a touch of Shakespeare). Also, it has a LOT of irony in all its forms. -- Oh, and I update every day with no filler, with a 200 page archive (and over 300 pages waiting to be uploaded). So, you can sit down for a good read sometime, if that's your thing.

Are there boys kissing? No. Er, once... (You'll see in a month or so ;) )
Sex? Nope, not yet. (Obviously nothing graphic, but there are couples.married people, so innuendo is fair game)
Boobs? I'm not a good judge of boobs, but the main characters are women, so technically there are at least six of them...
Awkward relationship stuff? Sure, quite a bit
Blood? Of course... And some guns and knives and bodies and poison...
Books? Uh, duh...

... And one old overweight cat wandering around the store ...

Aiight, I'll jump on the Shameless-Plug-Wagon. Wee.

Name of comic:
Zorphbert and Fred http://www.drunkduck.com/Zorphbert_and_Fred/

Genre:
humor-sci-fi

Synopsis:
2 Aliens. Disguised (poorly) as dogs. Here to study human life. Just like my banner says. Mostly, they're here to make fun of us earthlings, as were so damn mockable.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?:
Nothing's funnier than watching aliens try to fit in as pet dogs dressed in ridiculous costumes, and being ragged on by their manager dressed as a squirrel, and trying to fend off the neighborhood "ritalin-kid" who knows their identity and wants in on their "mission" to take over the world, which isn't really true, he just thinks so. Oh, and there's a neighbor cat who's also an alien, just for good measure. Didn't follow that? Yeah, me neither, but go see it for yourself. Ridiculously hilarious good times, my friend.

Oh, and I can draw good.

I know, it's "draw well", but it was funnier when I said, "draw good", wasn't it?

*ahem*

go 'head, click below. you know you wanna.

This could be a good thread - less it doesn't get too spammy. If people actually do check out your work they should come back and tell you they did and let you know maybe?

Name of Comic: Star Cross'd Destiny
Rating: M (language, sexual content and mild gore)
Genre: action/adventure, drama, situational comedy, noir fantasy
Style: Full color starting at Ch4, manga influence. Book 2 has more of an American comic feel though.

Synopsis: On the night of Dec. 21st, 2010, Rai Mijunkuro awoke on the streets with what appeared to be a blessing disguised as a curse. Nearly five years later, Rai, now more commonly known as Juno, is outrunning the law and the cajun mafia and the bounty hunters who want the price on her head after a major deal goes south and the wrong people find out about it. She stays underground with the help of her friends the Controllers of Light (Sean), Fire (Sam), Water (Pike) and Ether (Sara). When nightmares suddenly start disturbing the Air Controller's sleep she starts to get hints as what happened that night and starts to realize that these nightmares are more than bumps in the night and her curse is more than an ability to just make it rain.

Why should we take the time to read your comic?: Because the characters are fun. The series is long but written so the characters are consistent and grow with each and the arcs of the story. They have complete and complicated back history as well. And if you just tend to like car chases, explosions, supernatural powers, etc, there's all that in there too.

Sexual situations? They're real people to a point - you know one relationship will lead to that eventually.
Sex Appeal? There's something for everyone here!
Blood and other gore? Juno eventually takes a glaive out of her arm. You be the judge.
Awesome villains? While yet to appear, the Controller of Pressure is a charming sociopath with looks to kill and silver tongue. And for the ladies, the Controller of Land and Magnetism are both "bishi" enough to suit any girl's guilty 2dimensional addiction.
Other guilty pleasures? Cars and motorcycles. I'm throwing a car off a bridge soon. And lots of witty banter to fill your need of daily snark.

:D

Name of comic: FanDanGo
http://www.drunkduck.com/FanDanGo/

Genre: Retro-punk shoujo action/comedy fantasy manga

Synopsis: In a retro, brit-pop fantasy land where knights are commonplace and act as government agents, something sinister is afoot. When a mission goes awry, a haunted war veteran with a fiery temper and a sword as big as she is, Rekki Lune ends up dragged into matters. She is not amused by this.
The situation is only made worse by sudden upheaval in her personal life throwing her together with an indestructible hippie partner, her estranged best friend from school, her paladin-wannabe little sister and her sister's weird and rather spooky trap-obsessed friend!

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: If you want something that has action and comedy while keeping a heavy emphasis on the characters, and something in which the art takes risks and does experimental crazy stuff with colour and abstraction, and improves noticeably as it goes along, or if you're looking for a fantasy comic with girls who wear sensible clothing...Well, maybe this'll hit your buttons. I can't guarantee you'll like it, it's an acquired taste, but one you might learn to appreciate.

Comic Name Grog!

Genre Comedy

Synopsis A haphazard crew of mismatched pirates roam the Seven Seas in search of a fabled treasure. Quite honestly, they're not likely to ever find it, the way they're going. So far they've survived a one-man ship invasion, a dreadful......ly cute sea serpent, and a band of vicious sirens. They just saw off Zombie Blackbeard and his crew, too. Now they're embroiled in a race against time to break the Devil's Curse on the Flying Dutchman and his crew within 24 hours, or risk certain death by the terms of the curse.

Why should you read it? Because I'll cry if you don't. ;)
It has a large cast of unusual pirate characters such as Montague, the highly trained French chef, now disgraced and forced into work aboard a pirate ship, and The Lone Terror, who sails the oceans in his rowing boat with visions of becoming the most feared pirate of all time.
Plus I just had ghost-sex. Kinda. ;)

(CURSED, really, but ghost sounds better ^_^)

All right... I had my qualms about this, but here goes ;)

Name of comic: Wolf
http://www.drunkduck.com/Wolf/

Genre: Action-adventure, suspence and intrigue comic with a good dose of drama thrown in.

Synopsis: In a yet undefined city there is a horrible outbreak of a seemingly incurable disease caused by the so-called 'lycanthropy virus', which gives people superhuman strength, quick reflexes, a short fuse and a very short life span. A biology grad student specializing in epidemics has managed to develop a serum which stalls the virus which she has contracted. But is this virus a true plague from nature or is it a man-made weapon for which her own knowledge is needed to have it perfected? What will happen once the ones behind this operation start coming out in the open and the body count starts to rise?

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: There are a lot of action packed scenes with chaotic panels where everything happens at once. There are repercussions to be had and not one struggle leaves the characters unscathed. There is a girl with a giant scythe and a boy with a hooked nose making snide comments nobody understands. There is slight, frustratingly underlying romance. The art starts from a baseline and picks up in quality in a mere few pages. It's designed never to let you relax until the mystery has all been unravelled ;) It's worth a shot, at least, ne?

{b]Will there be...

Blood? Yes, definitely.

Bodies? At least a few already, and counting.

True evil characters that creep you out? At least two ;)

Sex? ...working on it, though it's rated T, guys XD

Name of comic: Due East
Rating: T+ (It really is aimed at teens and older, in terms of writing and art)
Genre: Real Life Drama/Comedy/Spiritual
Updates: Twice a week (Mondays and Fridays)

Synopsis: Interracial (Asian/Black) family reunites years after a bitter divorce, trying to rebuild their lives and move forward. Christian themed, story/character-driven with many moments of humor and cuteness. The main characters are biracial daughters Sapphira (20) and Brielle (16). There's also Brielle's best friend, Carolyn, who happens to be a Christian and biracial, too (White/Hispanic). The parents, Doug and Crystal, are an active part of the story.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: Due East has something to say, and it's probably not something that's heard too often. It's a Christian comic that doesn't bible thump, it just tells a very engaging and endearing story. And there's a whole lot going on in this story! Sapphira has to find her place in her old hometown again after a six year absence, a traumatic event happens to Brielle that will change her forever and affect the entire cast and that's only in Book One! Book Two explores the depths of our characters and we learn of a dark tragedy in Carolyn's past. We're just about to start Book 3 in a couple of days -- and it will be inked and in color!

(07.06-07 update - Book Three has begun! Come see it now! 8D )

YAY! Shameless promotion thread!!

Name of comic: Vampire Phantasm
Rated "M" for graphic violence, language, and creepy stuff.

Genre: Horror/Drama/Sci-fi/Action/Dark Romance....with bits of comedy.

Synopsis: (Lil' copy and paste job here.) Vampires have come out of hiding in the shadows and are trying to take control of everything. You will be entering the life of a particular vampire called Jack "Darkness" Price. A mad man with much more to him than meets the eye, as he has a terribly dark past involving his monstrous creator, Orlock. The story begins when Jack creates a vampire of his own, the head-strong Jill.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: Because I should be honored for my long hiatus. >_> <_<.....okay, seriously. One reason is that even though it's a vampire comic with attractive dudes, I try (or will try more) to make this comic for anyone. (Anyone suiting the "M" rating, of course.) In other words I don't just want this comic to be for the vamp/goth-loving fangirls. I want everybody to enjoy it. I also try very hard on the pages and try my best to improve all the time...especially the story, as obvious with the countless remakes. ^^; I'll try to make this the final incarnation though. And the CHARACTERS! The characters are the best part! They're my babies.
Also, if it suits your fancy...the comic has vampires! VAMPIRES!!! And one REALLY mean one that will creep you out.

Name:
Victory Theme

Genre:
Comedy

Synopsis:
A collection of hilarious comic strips concerning the lives of three high school kids and a leet speaking cat.

Why?:
Because special care is taken in making each Victory Theme strip hilarious, as well as an eye-catching art style that's constantly evolving. Read it ! Now !

I'll bet this is just some crappy Penny Arcade or Mac Hall ripoff that has ugly artwork and lame jokes.
Wanna bet? Read it for yourself .

Name of comic: Frank Baron, NSO www.drunkduck.com/Frank_Baron_NSO

Genre: Primarily an action/comedy, but there are elements of science fiction, drama, noir, and even politics.
Rating: M (violence, gore, mild language, drug and alcohol use)
Updates: Every Sunday

Synopsis: Frank Baron is an agent of the National Security Organization, tasked with protecting Zinkland, the most powerful nation in the world, from its many enemies. Engaging in a Cold War with the Roshans, terrorists from the Wasteland seeking what was promised to them, toppling unfriendly foreign governments, and making sure he doesn't get himself and his partner killed in the process are all on Frank's plate.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: Frank's world is rendered in a truly unique art style. The action is fast-paced and brutal while the comedy is sarcastic and irreverent. And there's a Mobile Oppression Patrol. Who wouldn't want to know what those guys are up to?

Name of comic: Tom the Turkey http://www.drunkduck.com/Tom_the_Turkey/

Genre: Comedy, poultry

Synopsis: Tom the Turkey and Mac the Rooster decide to use their frequent flier miles to go on a bunch of trips. They venture to places like Australia, New York, Mexico, Taco Bell, and even outer space. Along the way they usually meet someone who is out to kill Tom like his ex-wife, a bunch of evil penguins, and even Mr. T.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: It's funny. At least, it was meant to be. I got a lot of inspiration from animated shows such as Family Guy and the Simpsons. So come on, read it! .

I've got a few, but I'll just name the one I'm currently updating

Name of comic: >>>I Come From Mars <<<

Genre: Sci-fi comedy manga

Synopsis: Thousands of years ago in Atlantis, humans and martians used to coexist in harmony. But the relationship did not last long and a war between the humans and martians erupted. Atlantis, a thriving high-tech city, fell and was eventually forgotten over time. Mars shared the unfortunate fate with Atlantis as well during the war. Thousands of years later, the Martians are all coming back with one purpose. Revenge by taking over planet Earth.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?:

Creator: A comic about the Martians are coming to take over our planet Earth. Sounds good?

Reader: Booorrriiinnnnggg and it's overdone.

Creator: How about a Martian who wants to take over the world by possessing the human body?

Reader: No, that sounds like the Alien movie.

Creator: Ok, a Martian who intends to take over the world by possesing the human body and actually communicate with the humans.

Reader: Okay... that's slightly different, but that still doesn't convince me to read this...

Creator: Let's make it more interesting then. A really dorky nerd had the unfortunate incident of getting possessed by a cool and insane alien. And he's going to use this dorky human body to take over the world. And there would be quite a switch of personality between them, making the comic fun to read.

Name of comic: Rocketship A Go-Go

Genre: A light hearted sci-fi adventure

Synopsis: Our hero, Jace, is from a small town hides the terrible secret of the Mermaids! Two mysterious strangers come to town to help Jace get to the bottom of things - Could this be the first of many adventures?

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: Rocketship A Go-Go is in the classic style of the old adventure strips, but it has a quirky and sarcastic sense of humor.

Will there be hot chicks/dudes?: I have three of them. Jace is a very cute Tomboy. Crow has the mind of a trickster and the body of a supermodel. Futurella is a Synthetic Woman designed to appeal to, well, the sort of geeky guys who design synthetic women. On top of that, all three of them are smart and tough in their own ways. They are a medley of hott-ness.

Also, there are several hunky policemen who really need to be saved from hypnotically beautiful mermaids. What more could you ask for?

Why is your comic different?: Forget about fake angst and faux grittiness and self-absorbed characters - Rocketship A Go-Go is about is about real heros who just want to help - and see the Universe at the same time! So Join us as we head: Together Into The Unknown!

Name of comic: The Adventures of Superchum and the Mighty Befrienders.

Found either here at Drunk Duck: http://www.drunkduck.com/The_Adventures_of_Superchum_and_the_Mighty_Befrienders/

Or my MySpace blog (more on that hook later):
http://blog.myspace.com/superchum

Genre: Super Hero Parody (like the Tick, only in color).

Synopsis: Strange visitor from another suburb ... Friendlier than a happy puppy ... Able to meet new people in a single mouse click ... Look! ... Up in the sky! ... it's Superchum, world's friendliest super hero! Thrill to the quirky adventures of the suburbs' most unique super powered personality each week. Stop by regularly to find out if Superchum ... the bastion of brotherhood, the amiable avenger, the friend to the friendless ... will be able to realize his goal of befriending the entire world, or if the huddled masses of negativity will crack through the barrier of chumliness and bring even the convivial crusader down!

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: Well if the parody doesn't hook you ... and if the concept doesn't just make you go "awww, that's so damn clever!" ... think about some of the strength of the concept: Superchum was born hairless and jaundiced, making him the living embodiment of a smiley face. Superchum's belt buckle snaps together as two hands shaking. Superchum's main power, the Friendly Factor, gives him the ability to befriend on a cosmic scale. So those that can resist his charm must be really unfriendly! But, if Superchum is unfriendly, and forsakes the paths of chumliness (his own personal code for achieving world friendship), the bile from his jaundiced condition energizes wtih green envyonite, stripping him of his powers. Which means even though he has all the might of Superman, he can't use that might in an unfriendly manner. So Superchum is the only documented super hero in the history of comic books to defuse a super powered terrorist/hostage situation with POTATO SALAD! (Which will eventually see reprint here at Drunk Duck when I get to it, but it was originally published in Superchum #1, 1998).

And if that doesn't win you over ... here's the ultimate hook: If you visit Superchum either here or at MySpace, YOU CAN BEFRIEND HIM TOO! Thus, YOU the READER can help further Superchum's goal to befriend the entire planet! Talk about with great power comes great responsibility! You, the reader, can interact with Superchum and help him realize his goals. Now that's what I call a marketing hook!

;)

Name of comic: penis click here to read penis!

Genre: all see below

Synopsis: A great comic starring original characters.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: Its not so much the comic, as the drama that erupts around the comic. The comics are great, but add my explosive personality, the insane amount of plugging I do, and the way the comics are misinterpreted by people, and you've got comedy gold. Most all of the comics have multiple meanings as well. Often I apply symbolism to my strange situations and everything represents something else. Also its a parody of bad webcomics, it uses ninjas, racism, superheroes, robots, and other cliche' archetypes in ways no one else would dare use. If they would dare use them, they wouldn't deer to kill a kings dare. No one is quite the cunning linguist that I am with my words either. Every page is great or at the very least near-great. It is a medium for me to play with characters and stories of all genres. So if you don't like a certain page or story, keep checking back, something will appeal to you. I try my best to do a bit of everything, be it a story with furries, transvestites on the moon, a western that has instances of racism in every panel, or any other genre bending thing I can think to do. Most importantly I do penis everyday. I never miss updates. If I decide to go away for any amount of time, I'll be back unless I die, thats a gaurantee and promise. I also have developed extra content for my page that no one else has. I also write legendary and long rants on my authors notes that cover a wide spectrum of topics. Every few weeks, I go back and change the continuity of the comics as well as erase old authors notes. To encourage people to read often. Its almost three years old now, has recently been re-done artwise (its all cut and pasted, for my convince) but the basics of penis remain the same. Interesting original characters doing and saying very blunt and bizzare things. So read penis and laugh your ass off everyday of the week.

So for the tl;dr crowd, penis is a comedic leaning "random" comic that does a bit of everything in every place, and updates daily without missing updates.

warning: I've been told I offend people. I've always had a "too bad" attitude towards hate mail, but I might as well warn you guys that topics like abortion, racism, or rape are frequant.

Name of comic: American007

Genre: Actoion/Adventure Sprite Comic with Drama, Angst, Suspense and Comedic Relief.

Synopsis: An apocalyptic sprite comic about the near-death of man. Seven heroes rise from the ruins of the dead legends and combat villains...as well as their own inner demons.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: Although sprite comics are generally a bigger turn-off than Rosie-O-Donnel in a thong, American007 does things differently. This comic uses cinematographic effects, as well as various effects that makes your eyes go wild. American007 also uses depth and perspective, which are fairly rare in sprite comics. A007's storyline pays attention to every detail it's writing covers, making sure to cover up any plot holes in it's track. American007 also has great coloring, and great backgrounds (according to 90% of the users who have checked out my comic). If that's not enough, American007 is the only (might change) sprite comic to feature Cthulhu, as well as a Charas Hedgehog.

Examples:

There are many boundaries in Sprite Comics, American007 breaks those boundaries and presents a sprite comic which does things a little bit differently. For those who would like to see a sprite comic that does things right, then be my guest and visit American007.

Name: Better Luck Next Time, http://www.drunkduck.com/Better_Luck_Next_Time/

Genre: Comic-Story/Comedy/Real-Life type deal - Some Dramatic themes as storylines dictate (i.e. suicide, child abuse, school shootings).

Synopsis: Two boys flunk the sixth grade and attempt to make the best of their lives with the help of their small circle of friends - It's truly a satire of adolescence and the problems that issues that come with that dinner. It's a series that lasts their entire years in middle school and takes place in the heart of the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles, CA).

Why?: Every remembers the drama they went through in school - especially that nebulous world of middle school. It seems many of the DD artists are still going through it. The key factor here is HOW we make the most of the time. It is during these years you work on the "if you don't first succeed..." principle. Not only that, the research files on many things teen/education are fun to do! Read up on definition for Note Passing or School Lunches - Posted every Saturday.

What does THIS guy know about teens and school? I have 13 years of stories and experiences that also go into this strip and I have a 17 year-old daughter. I'm hip to the game. Oh yeah, I teach too.

Anything else? Just a good old fashioned fun comic series. Drawn entirely with Adobe Illustrator CS, from a guy passionate about education with a hint of social responsibility.

Anything risque? Well, if you hang around long enough - I have one secondary character whose mother is a porn star. Hey, it takes place in the San Fernando Valley. And yes, I DID have a student with a parent in the porn industry.

Come by and say HI :)

Peace be with you!

Name of comic: A Hunter And A Metroid(click on my sig)... :P

Genre: comedy with a touch of... no maybe... ah... A VERY small bit of seriousness.

Synopsis: really, you'd need to know a little bit about the metroid series itself... very little though. feh... what's to explain? I can't summarize it into a brief description.

Why we should take the time to read your comic?: It's a generic sprite comic. good grammer to pass off as a 5. the humour is quite good in my opinion :P but that's just me. no speech bubbles though. I have NO talent in that department whatsoever.

my rate out of 10? about a 6.6

what makes it different from other sprite comics? well if you look at the chapter 12 title page, you'll see that I can draw pretty well :D, but I'm too lazy to actually draw...

what sets it apart is it actually lasted past ten pages. it's made in paint with skill...I think. the metroid sprite is custom made by myself... and it has an apperent brand-of-it's-own type of comedy. but it has flaws here and there.

I make it sound like the comic is just terrible:P really, It's pretty decent in humour and breaks several boundries... "the fourth wall is broken rarely but is put in smoothly"... as someone said in a PQ to me.

commercial:

yeah that purple smoke thing is me... but don't worry, i'm not at all god-like in my comics.
