that song is brilliant....
I was in Little Shop in high school; it was my favorite play I'd ever been in!!! :D!!
You know, the guy who wrote that song also wrote the music for Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Pocahontas? (among other things)... ahh, alan menken. You are a source on indefatigable genius.

I get dragged to ALOT (and I mean alot) of musicals... some as nice as off-broadway (original cast) tours to crappy middle school "junior" productions. What can I say, I married an opera singer (literally).

And let me say... I dislike a lot of them. I love "musicals" in general... it just seems like there's alot of crap out there and 3 out of 5 just don't do it for me. Plus, some just don't make sense (and probably aren't meant to).

That being said... Little Shop is one of the few that I really enjoyed (except I prefered the movie ending of the musical ending). It's hilarious and nicely paced.

Oh, and Steve Martin is the master!

The guy who did Audrey 2's voice also did the voice for Mother Brain in Captain N.

Little Shop of Horrors is still one of my favorites. They sure had a great cast involved.

Somehow I don't think his role in Captain N is the thing people will remember Levi Stubbs for.

I never really liked the movie ending that much. Sure, it was more upbeat, but it really seemed rushed and tacked on compared to the rest of the film. I still think the Audrey II puppets are some of the best ever produced in Hollywood. It's such an amazing contrast when you consider the original movie was shot in two days using left over set pieces.

I still think the Audrey II puppets are some of the best ever produced in Hollywood.

Oh yes, they're fantastic puppets.

Furthermore the songs are hilarious, the cast in brilliant, so what's not to like? I have no idea...but I don't really like it. I've already gave the movie a second chance, still couldn't get really into it. The stupidest thing is that when I see a short clip I get a strong urge to just watch the movie again! I shouldn't, I'll probably just get disappointed.

But I will be watching the original soon. Mostly because it has the young Jack Nicholson :)

For his sake let's hope not. That would be like remembering Raul Julia for his stunning performance as M. Bison.

I saw Little Shop of Horrors at the theater once. They had an animatronic Audrey II and it was f*cking awesome.
