Why are you doing a webcomic?

I like doing my webcomic for a lot of reasons:

-I want to improve my art, and in order to keep up with my comic, I have to obviously draw a lot. I think that's been helping me to improve.

-I like to write stories. Before I even knew how to draw, I was writing stories and poetry, so with this webcomic, I can come up with a good story and present visuals with it.

-It's fun! I used to have a phobia of showing my work to others, (and I still do a little bit), but it's fun to see what people think of my work and to read their comments.

i'm doing a webcomic ?
oh yea ,, that thing , i'm kinda on the fence about doing it or not doing it as it seems all rather poinless . not like it used to be back when i cared about stuff .

with the massive abundance of things available on the internment as well as inreal life , i am starting to wonder if it's more than a little bit like pissing in the ocean , sure it feels great to relieve youself and if your swimming in the water at the time it will make you feel all warm for a while . but few people know that you did it and Nobody realy cares

I'm a very creative person and ever since I was a child I'd take my toys or make stuff from K'nex or LEGOs and make stories up. Narratives. If I was done playing one day, the next day would just be a new "episode." Then I discovered webcomics. I've just done what I've always done, but now I've got an audience. Natural progression, really, and I just love to make fiction whether it's a gag-a-day joke or a long epic story.

Well me and Doctor Shadow thought it would be an interesting thing to do together as a husband and wife team. I do a lot of commissioned artwork elsewhere and he does a lot of writing elsewhere so we thought it might be fun to do a creative project as a team.

And then the Chronicles of Wyrden snowballed lol!

Updating: Main comic: Mondays and Thursdays, other stuff weekly. Check around for blogs, art and other Wyrden things!

For one I like telling stories, but I'm a much better artist then I am a writer. Secondly, I severely bottle up my emotions inside myself. So, I use my comic to get those emotions out, otherwise I have meltdowns when something happens to make those emotions explode out of me (even then I try to hide it.) That's why I get really upset when people don't want to talk about my comic, because basically that's my reality.

I love telling stories. I love drawing. It took storyboarding in an animation class (and some subsequent souring in that field to turn me away from becoming an animator) to make me realize that I love putting the two together. Even if I don't make it as a comic artist, I can still storyboard, do concept art, write, paint, etc...

I do it mainly to keep myself drawing something. That way I can keep myself sharp, and continue to learn and improve myself.
I tend to get rusty if I don't.
I also draw comics because I enjoy sequential art. It's fun to draw, and rewarding at the same time.

I got tired of the heroes always winning. Not to mention that every comedic villain is a blathering idiot.

Watching all of these superhero shows throughout my childhood and recently really didn't help much, either. Not to mention I see myself criticizing these silly villains on how to do their job ("don't put a countdown on your massive bomb! just blow up the ****ing place aauuugh!" or "don't let the hero go! kill him! kill him! KILL HIM!!!")

I sometimes wonder if I should be allowed outside when I'm telling people on how to be evil...

I love to draw and tell stories. Been doing it since I was 8-9. Its a whole new world I can go to when I dont feel like being bothered by anyone else. Plus, its just loads of fun to create.

I draw comics because I can't help myself - it's something I've been doing literally for longer than I can remember. I went through a phase where I only did pinups for a long time, but it really doesn't seem natural compared to doing sequentials, and I think my art style works better in comics.

I publish because I see art as a form of communication, and I need to get a reaction of some sort. I don't like to create in a vacuum. And it's a webcomic because... honestly? I'm not good enough for print. Yet.

I started because I like drawing stories with pictures, and people can see them online.

The web allows anyone to show their creative work to everyone. My drive to do something creative manifests most readily and frequently in writing comics. Put 2 and 2 together... and you get wonderful things like DrunkDuck. And our comic on it!

Also, Weave is a story I have been laboring on for years and my friend has been doing sketches and art for it for almost as long... And how can you get that published in Serbia, where I live? Hint: no way. But one day, as I was reading through numerous comics I follow online, I suddenly found myself certain of one thing: what I want most is to tell our story to people who would enjoy it. And there are bound to be such people in the vast interwebs! And look, here is a bunch of people who did it already, through this wonderful medium of webcomics!

So we done gone and did it. And we are here now.

I love drawing.
I love telling stories.
I love comics.
I love getting feed back.
Not that this isn't hard. I am married and have two children that deserve and get my time and attention, I have a 9 to 5 and a bunch of other responsibilities - but I do this because it is a way of being true to myself. I have to be an artist its just who I am. I also enjoy that drawing everyday helps me to get better at it.

I draw my comic because if I don't draw a stupid comic about cows and pigs who will? One of you guys? No wait please don't! I don't think my comic can handle the competition. I'm alone in my Genre.

I make comics because I have to. Seriously, my head is so full of ideas and jokes and stuff that, often, wouldn't work in any other medium. Sometimes if I come up with a really good joke I can't sleep unless I jot it down, cause I'm worried I'll forget it in the morning. Problem is, I'm a much better writer than artist, so I have well over 200 comics jotted up, and only about 20 drawn, most of which are terrible.

A few reasons, but mostly because I've read and enjoyed manga/comics for years now almost as much as i enjoying actually doing them. Sequentials are like a part of me.

I love comics and I love telling stories, but that in and of itself isn't why I'm here. I am here because I am terribly, terribly lazy, and I know if it weren't for the delusion that there are people expecting a comic out twice a week, I would keep putting it off. (Kind of like I am now.) Yay enforced responsibility!

Oh, that and the money. I'm thinking of putting up ads and getting, like, maybe a cent. B)

It's funny, but I decided to turn a comic that I wanted to do through an independent printer into a webcomic because I kinda didn't want to spend the money for the comic, and I wanted people to actually read the comic instead of flipping through it.
